Testing out color schemes and basing before I dedicate my sanity to painting 2500 points of white Tau. This one is going off the Vior'la sept. The other that I want to try is the Vash'ya sept. I may need to go once more with the white highlight from the airbrush, but I do like how the base turned out. Haven't picked out any details or taken the black/metal parts, Mainly just testing to see if the white or black (the next model) will look better on the base. Let me know what you think! Sorry for the crappy lighting.

The base looks fantasic and the finish on the model looks very clean. Although I do find it hard to pick out white armour highlights on camera I imagine. Did you go the off white route and highlight with a true white?

Did you use nuln for shading the recesses too? It makes the model look much cleaner. Although I do prefer agrax earthshade as its a bit more used looking.

As for the sept are you planning on keeping the white armour? Im not sure the purple of vash'ya would work as it needs something nice and bright to pop out like vior'la red.

I think I went a bit light with the recesses. A watered down army painter dark tone. I started with a medium grey, then a 75% white grey, thenot pure white for the main highlight. I might not have done enough coats with the white as it was pretty things in the airbrush. I really want to keep the white armor for the Vior'la because I've never had a white army and now I have the patience and tools to do it lol.

I'm no expert so I can't really give any advice on the finish with your airbrushing. Have you done any edge highlighting on the model or do you go for the smooth blending style? Just got back into the hobby myself and have been hand brushing. Funny thing is I saw the white armour on the box and loved how the Vior'la sept markings stood out and set to repaint what I had. Except progress is becoming glacial with my novice level skills and white armour.

If youre interested here's how one of my first attempts turned out:

It's rather scratchy looking but I'm quite please with it.
