I’ve been seeing a few other companies making base toppers lately, little round bits that you can buy separately or that come with your mini, and you just glue them onto the tops of your bases so you don't have to add your own sand and grassy stuff. I’ve been thinking about including those with newer sculpts.. but not totally sure i want to since it will add to the cost, but I think it might be cool and make the minis a little more thematic. They would mostly just be rocky or have a cracked desert kind of look. They could be generic that work with any mini, or I could have minis packed with a custom topper that matches their feet and position and stuff like that.

What do you think? Do you like base toppers? Would you rather see a more full and complete custom base, and no plastic ones? Or do you prefer the plain plastic bases that you can decorate yourself?

Don't really like them, myself. .

My bases are "outdoor" wild west themed, and any rocks/gravel I need I source from my neighborhood.. I don't NEED metal rocks.

I like custom bases I think they look nice all painted up, but at the same time I own very few of them and prefer to make my own because I'm cheap. Something like 15 years ago I bought a tub of woodland scenics rough and course black railroad ballast, I mixed them together and I've been using that ever since. I don't think it's even half gone yet.

Maybe once I get started sculpting I'll try and put together some toppers as a separate little pack and see about making them in resin and see if folks like em... rather than including them in with the minis that could drive up the prices.

I'm fond of the standard bases, since I can customize them myself.
