Take a look at this:
http://www.totellstories.com/40k/

It is a really well done survey of 40K players, and is the sort of valuable market research that GW needs to pay attention to improve our satisfaction of their product(s).

To that end, I'd encourage everyone to like and comment on this post on facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10208761882022227&id=1575682476085719

If we make sure it is high profile enough, it will not be ignored.

To be honest, the survey results didn't surprise me much, did any of the results surprise you?

I really hope this gets the attention it deserves. Props to the creator.

Or you can just keep buying chaos everything, and not play them. Just sit alone in your room for years, painting and detailing, and detailing some more. Then keep doing that for years until you own upwards of 10000 points of chaos. Keep shining their swords and sharpening their knives. Then some day, some wonderful day, when a new book comes out that will realize your armies' potential, come out from hiding. Everyone will have thought you had left warhammer 40k for good, but no, you had been training, preparing, and brooding for this moment. Return with such vengeance and hatred that you will not hold back, and you will destroy everything in your path. Like a true chaos crusade, wait for the right moment, then burst forth from the Eye of Terror and unleash your pain on the whole universe. And when they cry and complain that you are OP and that it's not fair. Reassure them that it's true. It isn't fair, but it's what they DESERVE. All of them, each and every one of them deserve to be obliterated into oblivion. And if they ask you to play with a fluffy army, tell them you will do so. But on game day bring the meanest nastiest, ugliest army you can. Give them no opportunity for victory, give them no opportunity for enjoyment. Your only goal is to inflict as much pain and suffering as possible. And when they cry, and they will cry, laugh at them, drink their salty tears, and bath in their sweet, sweet blood.

I find it interesting so many veterans/holder hobbyists responded to the survey.

Great stuff. I like to buy my models in batches as well since its cheaper and 400-500 is the bag for your buck zone. Since it takes me about.... 5--8 months to paint all of that it adds up to be a very efficient hobby. I got a huge discount buying a ton of models at once so its efficient.

It takes discipline to finish all of them though before doing anything else.

Also I guess me and my friends are all a rarity seeing as we're all under 4 years. It will be two for me this October. or Octauber in my case.

Some interesting stuff, did it say anywhere where they had the survey up? As I didn't see that but may have missed it.

Can't see on Facebook from here so any info there is lost to me :(

How does 101.5% of responders say they own space marines of some sort? That's.... that's more than all of them.

maybe they put up different votes for GK, SM, DA, BA and SW and combined them... But I also found it misleading, not to say impossible

I think it's that. There are a few people who don't own any SMs but a number of people own vanilla SMs and Space Wolves or Grey Knights or whatever.

It's a very interesting result of survey.

I'm surprised that 50% of responders also play WHFB (not any more ha ha! I bet...) That stat in itself seems to say that this survey is not fully representative of all GW customers, given that GW canned WHFB for not being popular enough. Or maybe GW made a dreadful error by canning WHFB in favour of AoS.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Yes, you could respond as owning multiple sm armies. Regarding whfb, i don't recall a time aspect to the quuestion. I started there, still have tons of figures, but havent played in years

In the detail report they explain it. Yes, they combined those factions to arrive at that number, but many people own multiple armies including 2 or more from that list of factions so they got counted twice.

GW, would you read this and take it to heart? Pretty please?

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

A bit surprising yes, but not necessarily unrepresentative. Many older 40K players have probably at least tried FB at some point; it used to be really popular.

Ive said it for ages but this to me is further albeit limited proof of the sillyness of the 10 year old timmy angle: That GW caters to and whom they get most of their cash from.
Even on a personal level I can guarantee my GW/FW spending trumps any little timmys out there with mom or dads credit card

4 words: middle aged disposable income.....

I think I remember the survey being posted up here on Dakka Dakka. I remember these questions and taking my time to answer them. Glad to see such a well done report on them! Really hope GW sees this!
