Hi guys, need some advice. I already have the dark angels army from dark vengeance, I'm wondering what is something relatively cheap that I could get to add in to my army? I've looked around and it seems like a lot of people are suggesting to get another DV set, is this still a good idea? What about the start collecting Space marines to get the venerable dreadnought? Any other suggestions to build a solid list?

Well for good value how about the space marine getting started kit?
You get a second tactical squad, a dread and a company master in terminator armour to go with your deathwing.

Not the most competitive tho.

DV is a great value for the money, but you're also getting a lot of stuff you might not need the second time around. The Deathwing are in a bad spot right now, so I wouldn't recommend more Terminators. Bikes are very good in 7th Edition, so more Ravenwing isn't a bad thing. Do you want a Lion's Blade Strike Force? Then you're going to need Tacs, Devs, Assault Marines, and a ton of transports. Ravenwing will require Black Knights, more bikes (pick up from eBay), a Dark Shroud, and speeders.

It might be worth simply thinking about which direction you want to go in.

ah thank you, i might need to play more games to see what I want. What do you think about a combined deathwing ravenwing army? From reading the codex it feels like thats what they intended it to be played? but like you said the deathwing are in a bad spot so maybe a Lions Blade Strike Force would be the way to go.

If you really want to play termies, they definitely pair best with Ravenwing support. The RW can get up the board fast and they provide teleport homers so the DW won't scatter when they deep strike. The Lion's Blade is a nice formation, but it requires a much greater investment since the magic of that type of army is a lot of scoring infantry and transports. A DW/RW army can be had by simply buying spare DV termies and bikes from eBay along with Black Knights and/or Deathwing Knights to act as your hard-hitters.

As a DA player, you want lots of Black Knights, Librarian Bikers, and bikers with Grav Guns. Land Speeders with Assault Cannons and Multi-Meltas, lots of air support via an allued detachment (I like Ultramarines Stormravens).

Thank you so much for both of you. I'm now definitely leaning towards an RW list, how do they normally play like on the board? Should I just skip the second DV box and go for something like DA Battleforce?

Sounds like you could benefit from reading this. Some of it is old information but the principles on fielding bike armies are still pretty much the same as ever.
