so I'm building my knights from my renegade pack, ones already built as a knight warden with chainsword, and I'm considering my next one being an errant with a thudnerstrike gauntlet (I already have a paladin from when knights first released) I'm not missing anything that's gonna make that a horriably sub optimal choice am I?

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

General opinion is that the gauntlet isn't worth the extra points but if it fits anywhere then it's on the errant which will be seeking out groups of vehicles.

The errant isn't great with vehicle damage as it stands now but it's not terrible. It needs to have groups of vehicles to attack in order to do well. If your opponent scatters his vehicles or just doesn't have many then it'll struggle to be as useful as a paladin or warden.

Maybe but I already have a Pally and Warden so I figure I'll have a decent mix of weapons.

That gauntlet's Hurl ability also works on MCs, though. The Errant may not be the best option for taking out Riptides at range, but it can D-slap with the best of 'em in CC.

The thing about the Gauntlet is that since it swings at Initiative 1, even if you kill your target you can still Stomp. And throw your traget if it's a vehicle or MC.

I keep reading about how that gauntlet and superheavies work and I can only think that if a gallant did reach an enemy line, without getting smoked on the way, it really could do a lot of damage. Especially if it slams into a squadron of light armor. Also like the idea of synergizing dunecrawlers with giant lasers to concuss other SHs before running in.

Only the heaviest of metals.
