'Murica! (again)

Real quick, I'm doing a 150/deploy 100(or more) list for BitS next weekend and with Fyreslayers only (available and hey, fluffy, they don't need no stinkin' help!) and I can make, with stretching 136 points with models I have now and by the limits SCGT allows on core troops in the list. Now, likely the key warband will stay the same all 5 games, swapping heroes in and out and maybe in place of hearthguard units. I'm wondering if I should add the second runemaster real fast or if he can wait. So here's my army, all my lil' tricksand tactics involve synergy and sacrificing models. So far... Any thoughts? Thanks!
• 20 vulkites double axe
• 20 vulkites double axe
• 3 x Grimwrath Berzerkers
• Battlesmith
• Auric runemaster (Volcano's Call) **ADD 1 more??**
• 2 x Runesmiter
• Runepappy on Magmabomb
• Runelad on Magmabomb (son)
• 10 Auric Hearthguard
• 10 Hearthguard Berzerers w/flaming flail (mortal wound 3+)
• Runeson on foot
• Runepappy on foot

Will deploy both Magmabombs when I can to just look cool, per the rule of cool.

Are you running any formations? Lords of Lodge certainly is one you can make and seems pretty good - buffs the Hearthguard Berzekers and helps get the double turn when you need it :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

Actually, I think I will. to get closer to 150, though even will deploy 100 or maybe more in some scenarios. Wanted to try the Angard's berserker one, healing the GB once, but I need 2x 20 units vulkites to be effective and SCGT has core caps(whatevs) so that's the bind. Units of 10 are a waste for my time and my opponent's IMO. Have you run/seen LoL? I think it's used more. That would be the one to pic, also, as I have 10 H.Berzerkers. If I had time and cash aspare it's be 20 real fast

No, I've never seen a Fyreslayer army in action! I went to the Bristol Smash last weekend (30 player tournament) and the 10 Vulkite Berzekers I brought were the only Fyreslayers in the tournament.

The biggest problem I found was their massive 32mm bases, but in later games a saw-tooth formation helped get all the models in contact.

I would think LoL is a good one to run. In fact I see Fyreslayers as being built around all the formations as each one is a nice part of a wider army.

Angard's one is insane if you can get the double attacks off. You would need a second battle smith as well as 20 more vulkites to use both though.

Let us know how you get on. Fyreslayers are generally considered to be very weak and over costed in SCGT so prove them wrong! :-)

Happy to report in, and good work in representing the Lodges.
Recording a show on the Fyreslayers tonight but lots of tactics to talk. BitS is 40 spots available for AoS so I'll be real keen to see if they make an appearance, though so far I'm the only solo list. I think I'll try out LoL there in my army and maybe even deploy.

There's several voices on TGA & twitter asking for vulkites to be cheaper in SCGT. I HOPE that happens. Weird for me in any wargame to limit core infantry but I guess that's a play style thing. I was worried at first when I started Clash there would be enough to even make an army but I see how it works. If SCGT goes 7 or 8 for 10 vulkites that works better, or remove cap on numbers allowed.

Did you see because of the new SCGT pools document you can now have 60 Vulkite Bezerkers rather than the 30 before. And for 7 pools for 10!? A great boon to your army :-)

Oh heeeeeeellllllll to the yes!
Comp was too late so I used old one but from now on they are a real army with real challenges. Can't wait and already have reindorcements in the way. Though I didn't do too badly at the event but my opponents all saw how, yeah...that needed to change.
