Hey guys !

Some of you may remember that a while back I had a Soul Drinkers marine army project.

Sadly over time the inspiration to do it has absolutely died.

After a few attempts to sell the army ( For about 1/3 of its cost ) which failed miserably, I realized it's better repurposed and given a new breath of life !

So, with this in mind, I decided to revisit a chapter I once began but was nowhere near competent ( and at the time patient ) enough to do properly...

The Imperial Fists ! ( I was just discovering painting yellow and white ) .

So , set out on this journey today ! I have removed all the mutations I added to the army and replaced them with parts from my vast bits box with ease.

I have purchased a lotta Dettol from a local Home Improvement store that sells it for a good price, and am stripping the models which need to be stripped, and rebasing those that need to be rebased.

I have taken a quick snap of my WIP of these changes however will upload them tomorrow (2am now ) sometime

An important note is that this army was originally intended to be a Salamanders army ( My greatest weakness sometimes, indecisiveness ) and so I have a character with Sauras Warrior Heads (From Lizardmen, fantasy) converted onto his back pack. I decided it gives him a lot more character, and since the rest of the army will be pretty sock, why not

So here is my plan. In order to keep me motivated, and also keep me focused, I will do it in blocks at a time.

I have written a short and sweet 500 point list which I will paint to and model to completion, then use these to paint up a further 500 points to total 1000 points, and so on, until my army is complete.

I have a close friend staying with me for a week visiting so am unsure how much I'll get done this week, however I am certainly keen to dive in !

Update coming soon guys , thanks for reading !

So here is the single picture I took of my working space last night. Its not much picture wise, but I promise once everything is resprayed white I will upload some more proper pictures, as well as an army list im working on !

As you can see, ive replaced some of the mutated parts with bare plastic spares. At the time of this picture, I also have a batch currently stripping

Hey guys, still no paint applied unfortunately but finishing up the first batch ( of 2...maaaybe 3) model strips, and took the opportunity to remove some of the green stuff scales I had applied and green stuff the surfaces back smooth.

Unfortunately like a genius I didn't take photos of the before only the after, but these surfaces were pretty messed up with pock marking or scrapes and cuts , and some of them had small green balls placed to look like scales, with super glue dripped over to hold it all together.

For some , I layered smooth green stuff over panels to recreate them. With others ( Like the HQ Captain you will see on his cloak ) I am using Liquid green stuff, however it will require many many layers as the cloak was pretty messed up !

Whilst my initial 500 point list wont include much of these units, I wanted to take the opportunity to de-mutate the prep as much of the army as I could for their new future !

Will try to get some sprayed and some paint down over the next 2 days !

Quick update :
The first batch sent to be stripped are complete. The ones missing pieces will be fixed now ( that is where mutations were ) .

Going to try and get a test model for my Yellow scheme atleast started within next day or two.

Army list :

So for the 500 point initial painting list, wanting it to be somewhat playable and useful as part of a larger army eventually, this is what I've come up with. Thoughts ?

Tactics : Imperial Fists

HQ
Librarian - Stock with Power Sword

Elites
Venerable Dreadnought - Power Fist Multi Melta

Troops
5 x Scouts - Sniper / Camo Cloak loadout
10 x Tactical marines - Combi Flamer , Heavy Bolter, Plasma Gun

Heavy Support
Whirlwind - Stock

Total : 500 points

I find this list is pretty diverse in terms of painting to keep things interesting, and also provide a decent list for the day it ends up on the table (if it ends up there at this rate )

Quick Update :

Second batch of models stripped, and all mutations replaced with loyalist parts !

Those requiring new bases have been rebased with some Back-to-Base-ix resin bases I scored for very cheap at a local hobby store in the bargain bin!
