This tank sat on my back burner for a few years. Partially constructed, then just constructed, then just primed, but now painted.

Model looks great but, way to clean for my tastes. Weathering could go a long way for this one IMHO. And it seems like it could use a few washes as well. It may be your pics.

Yeah, it's a combination of my painting style (I actually like the Tonka-toy look) and the sub-standard pics.

Sweet model. If going for"toy" look you did great. Not my style but I like more 40k dark and dirty.

Yeah, my friends often roll their eyes when I say my tanks are fresh off the showroom floor.

Nice conversion but I agree with the others who said the paint job still looks a little basic. Some dry brushing or inks would add a lot.

I love the modelling work. I don't mind simple, crisp paint schemes...this one just looks unfinished. I think it's the liberal use of white/light greys. It just looks like you have a bunch of plasticard on the model, waiting to be primed. It has a very unfinished look.

Again not a critique on the paintwork, or the modelling...the colour scheme just really lets it down in my book.

Not done do it all over again.

Lol jk very nice not a fan of the style but ot is done perftly to that style and nicely done.

After reading some comments I think I can explain what they mean certain greys always look unpainted because thats the colour alot of us work with when the model is unpainted. Like I alwasy found snot green looked like green stuff when painted lol.

Cool idea, but way to clean for me, I thought it was a lego model at first.

Shred City.

Construction is fantastic, but yeah the coloring is off. I really like how it's essentially a mobile command fortress with enough space to provide a fortified position for a squad valiantly providing both defense and offense against the foot troops climbing aboard to do damage. Imagination goes wild thinking of the battle.

If you went Fortress of Arrogance-esque and it was all black with gold riveting and tons of battle damage/weathering it'd be an elite centerpiece. Just me being a douche about how I wish I had this piece to paint, though.

Looks great! I love the rivets/bastion usage

What was the color scheme you were going to go with? I don't see any battle damage to I assume a crisp look?

Where did you get yellow plasticard?

That's not yellow plasticard. That's just paint. Averland Sunset to be precise.

The pictures are a tad misleading. The Dark grey is actually Stormvermin Fur, and much darker in person. There is some silver in the details too, but it seems to have been washed out with the poor lighting and camera work.

i have a giant leviathan on my back burner for some months too...so i am envious for you having finished yours...congratulation mister!

to chime in with the others...a bit of weathering...washes and drybrush would be a nice addition...leman russes come and go as days go past... but a leviathan is for ages... so crispness is probably the least we can associate them with...i have found that light drybrushhed browns on white or grey looks very stunning and doesn´t cost too much time...again...envy is my main motivation for mentioning this^^

Weathered or no, that model looks awesome! Great job - it feels appropriately imposing.

I admit, I wouldn't be able to pass up the opportunity to grime the beast up, but the clean look is unique, and something about the crisp lines and solid blocks of color reminds me of the models in my 2nd edition books.

Again, your Leviathan looks rad!

The one design criticism that I have received is "I thought it was supposed to be taller, and look like a church?"

Honestly, I thought about it. I was going to use parts from the Shrine of the Aquila kit, but decided against it. I just deleted the whole "church" aspect and made it look more like a functional tank and mobile bunker.

I had no idea - sorry I was probably on mobile when I saw the picture

The photos are odd - its unbearably clean and looks unfinished. The conversion is 10/10 breathtaking, but the paint job seems so stale/blank.

Can you put it next to one of your Leman Russ tanks on your display board for events / terrain? I'm curious to see how the rest of your Guard works/some of the infantry. Is the army themed around 2nd ed IG?

Non church like is fully justified, after all its a military vehicle...and about the taller issue...so long as your command crew fits inside its tall enough

Remember, the original old Epic Leviathan was not particularly churchy beyond its archways etc. It was perhaps a bit taller, but it's always been a blocky big thing with a huge barrel.

Interesting choice. Would be very curious to see this as part of a whole army.

A nice 'modernisation' of a clunky old vehicle design. Good job.
