Very nice. Debating Taranis or one of the other Mars aligned knight houses to ally with my mechanicus.
The black rage is within us all. Lies offer no shield against the inevitable. You speak of donning the black of duty for the red of brotherhood; but it is the black of rage you shall wear when the darkness comes for you.
I like Taranis but you cannot go wrong with House Raven. The only reason I didn't go with House Raven was I liked House Taranis back in Mechanicum and I hate the chevrons because they look more like construction markings than anything. That said you do not have to follow the color schemes 100%.

Yeah that is the Purity seal that muted the red. If you notice the metal colors are muted. I used purity seal which was a mistake and brought it back to this via a Satin varnish. I have been thinking of hitting it with a gloss and then going over it with a Satin varnish to mute the gloss effect.
Looks well done. I'm personally a bit bored with all the red/metal/black knights all over the place - but it works fine with the fluff. You could try just satin directly applied?
yeah, the mechanicus color schemes are bland compared to the Imperial knights. I mean just look at House Cadmus and Griffin. I have done that on other models but for the longest time my local store only had Purity Seal. Now we have Vallejo and the satin varnish is awesome!
