Hi!

I have been struggling a while with how to paint my Dark Eldar army. After some experimentation, I have finally settled on a color scheme that I'm satisfied with, and I just want to share it with you along with some experiments I made along the way!

Note that the paintjob on the last two pictures was sprayed over the preceding one so it's not as neat as a non-test model will be.

I am satisfied with the result from a technical standpoint, but it looks like it's a plane made from candy and pokemon farts.

My girlfriend started singing "Nananananananana Batman!" when she saw it, which is fine, but I'm not happy with the extreme highlights. It gives a busy impression.

I tried a contrasting color for the batmobile. I figured out that I could make the red really "pop" by spraying a layer of white just underneath the final red highlight. Still not happy with the overall look though.

Eureka! This is exactly what I wanted. Lot's of volume, but subtle enough not to be distracting. It looks venomous (pun intended, but it really looks venomous doesn't it?)

One of the kabalites got so excited with the color scheme that he immediatly wanted to take the old bird out for a spin. I cautioned him about the cat. He changed his mind and proceeded to torture some mosquitoes instead.
