Pretty self explanatory. The priest, the chaplain, the librarian and dante join the sanguinary guard. The tactical squads thin or kill infantry, the assault squads target tanks.

If I were using Dante, I'd try using actual jump pack troops.

Two assault squads and a sanguinary guard squad.

I mean as in zero podded infantry. I'd try to squeeze as much out of Dante as I could. Also, I'd dump the chaplain and put the priest and Dante in an assault squad. The sanguinary guard are killy enough without any help at all.

Also, the jump troops from the Flesh tearer strike force doesn't benefit from Dante's ability. Only units in his detachment.

Also, give the assault sergeants combi-meltas for extra punch.

I love running Dante with an honor guard. It's an extra source of FNP, and you can give three of them storm/shield meltagun. Hit and run means your melta guns can fire every turn. In fact, I think the honor guard is significantly better than the sanguinary guard. Of course, you can run both.

The assault squads are in the flesh tearers strike force so the power fists have a chance at more attacks due to rage. Dante is not likely to be warlord, he's just there because he's a cool character. The sanguinary guard are there because I love the models and because they make for a fluffy bodyguard for Dante. I accept that this isn't the most competitive list, that doesn't really bother me too much.

Dante doesn't really need a bodyguard, though.

True he doesn't need a bodyguard, but that doesn't mean he can't have one. Also, the entire point of this list is to build a death star in a bound army, and then support it with other units.

BA don't really have a viable deathstar, though. So there's no point in trying to do that.

Keep in mind primary roles for your units. What are the tacticals job? What are the assault marines job? Is the equipment you are giving them allowing them to perform that role best? If there is a secondary role, how effective are they? Is it worth it? Relying on a 1/6 chance for rage to get more power fist attacks may not be worth it.

As BA, you need to consider efficiency and synergy where you can to make up for some disadvantages compared to regular SM.

For the Sang guard, is the Chaplain worth it when they have master-crafted already. Perhaps replace the Chap with another libby.

What weaknesses do the Sang Guard have? How can you make up for them with your other tools?

From my experience, Sang Guard need defense, so how can you give them that? I like running Dante because Eternal warrriors act as tanks for units (Dante eacorts the Sang Guard). Sang priest gives the fnp and better WS, which acts as both an offensive and defensive boost. Pyskers can give the last bit to get them to the next level, but as always it won't be certain. You need invulnerable saves (guaranteed saves) or reduce the math against killing you (invisibility, better toughness, re-rolling saves etc).

Yea, it's less than ideal vs having guaranteed 3+ invulnerable saves and T5, but if you are ok with that, and love those models, go for it!

As always, play with an idea, then tweak and tweak as you learn how to play with them. Have fun!

I leave them at home. Because 33 pts is too much for a W1 T4 model.
