So for this list I am using the wildstalker brayherd for maximum ridiculousness.
Wildstalker Brayher Battalion 140
Beastlord 80
Great Bray Shaman 100
3x 20 Gors 480
4x 30 Ungor Raiders 960
2x Tuskgor Chariots 120
Gorthor the Beastlord 180

They get 1 extra attack for being near the beastlord or shaman and they also get reroll ones to wound if they are close to both. Gorthor would be the general. The gors, beastlord, and shaman would all go into the ambush. The ungors, gorthor, and chariots would stay in my deployment zone to put pressure on that direction. There are 185 models. I would give the crown of command to the beastlord if possible. I think it would be fun and fairly effective what do you guys think?

My Armies:
Orks about 15000-16000 mostly unpainted but slowly being worked on
Militarum Tempestus about 2000 points just built
Inquisition about 2000 points unpainted
Officio Assassinorum 570 unpainted
I dont paint quickly

Interesting. I had read the Brayherd Ambush rule and thought it quite silly because to me it sounded like it was an all or nothing scenario when deciding who Ambushes. When I read back, I can see it going either way.

Brayherd Ambush excerpt:
Instead of setting up the units in a Wildstalker Brayherd on the battlefield, you can place them to one side. In your first movement phase you must set up allof these units wholly within 6" of the edges of the battlefield and more than 9" from any enemy models.

Also, other problem I've found with when I played with ambush is that I don't get a hero phase with what's coming in. So I don't get any combat buffs with the units until my next turn comes around which can be up to 1-2 turns away depending on who goes first. I also recommend giving the crown to the Great Bray Shaman so that either of them can Inspiring Presence if you need/want to and you don't lose everything when one hero dies.

That's a good plan with the crown. I learned that the hard way this last weekend. I never thought of it as an everything must be deployed thing. It probably wouldn't make a huge difference but that's interesting.

Contacted GW to make sure and yeah, they agree that the Wilkstalker Brayherd is all or nothing when it comes to ambushing. Attached the messenger conversation.

Ahh oh well. Still the ungor raiders should be able to get into a position to shoot by turn 2 at the latest. The wording is still confusing though. In the previous ungor raider specific battalion where they ambushed just like this it said you must put them to the side. Why not do that here? Instead it says you can set them up to the side as if it is a choice which is odd considering that a very similar rule before said must. If you had to ambush everyone why not say to deploy the whole battalion to the side. I don't know it just seems like they would have worded it as an absolute instead of what they did if you had to.

Also they specifically say they are not the rules writers and they can take a guess but it is not official.

Yep it is a few models. I am used to it though. I regularly run 250ish boyz in 40k so I've got it down pat. Plus after turn 2 I wont have to move much!
