The tourney coming up is 1000pts and my first ever tourney of I'm able to attend. I'm thinking of using a fast list for quickly taking objectives when needed and a decent amount of Dakka. I like all the twin linked shooting from the bikes because it effectively negates having BS 2. If I need to assault with my warlord he has I4 S10 klaw! Hopefully would kill most baddies before they hurt him. The warlord and painboy attached to larger bike squad for some more survivability. The MANZ missiles aren't to be ignored and I plan on moving them flat out toward the enemy with no worry about the trukk exploding as the manz are hardy. They should draw some fire away from the real objective grabbing troops. Lootas provide cover fire for rest. The other ork player in the store doesn't use bikes just trukks so I should light him up before he can assault and I'll kite his bigger baddie unit. The other armies are necrons and marines galore. I can also glance the hell out of light transports if I roll well enough. What do you guys think?

Hey i like the list a lot ( remember to turbo boost and jink on 2+ with Zad )

However, you will figure this out fast enough; meganobz are so slow...

Have you consider using more lootas ? These guys are amazing ! You could also consider using a big mek on a biker with field to give a 5++ to your bikers in case you face some ignore covers...

You could also drop the meganobz and the big biker's squad. With those points, you could make a nobz star ( nobz on bikers ( they get 2W each, better strenght, 4+ armor, more attacks, jink on 2-3+ with zad, get FNP from painboy ) ). They really worth a shot !

How about this list. I thought about the Lootas and realized they are too slow to help the warbikers and a deffkoptas provide needed antitank plus they can also scout. I want to scout them and Zhads bikes first turn. This would put many threats in there face turn 1 and giving them all a low jink after turbo boost. I'd play a little different against tau but for most others I'd get up close and either shoot or turbo boost and buy time until in the right position to wreck the opponent. I considered a nob bikers unit but for the points I get more biker boys which means more Dakka down range and more units to take objectives.

Zhadsnark has Skilled Rider rule giving +1 jink and auto-passing dangerous terrain.
took a larger unit of warbikers since Lootas don't have the manuverability. jink for a 2+ cover save makes them extremely survivable in the first turn, especially combined with a painboy being much better value in a larger unit. Making bikers troops is great too. Plus stick boss to tank wounds.

Another. Revision. Decided to go with more minimum sized units in case the roll ends up being objective heavy scenario. Also wanted opponents to waste their fire and smaller units and have to worry about target priority. Kill points will hurt me though.

The name of the game in that list is morale.
and unfortunately you will have a issue with it. The deffkoptas are best served in either a single kopta squad or a 5 kopta squad.
this is because any casualties will cause a moral test below 5 models.
Same issue with bike squads, i would be tempted to take 3 squads of 5 bikes instead rather than 5 squads of 3.
perhaps with some adjustment you can fit in a manz missile, they are hearty and are lot likely to suffer a casualty from explosion
and will also benefit from being turboboosted up the table. Plus they will likely survive the turn they have the trukk exploded and then you can charge on your turn.
they will be unlikely to dedicate all their fire at them as the rest of your army is fast.
Just remember not to get too close because if they know combat is inevitable they will move towards you shoot and then charge and you dont want that Orks NEED the charge.

My thoughts on the minimum sized squads is target priority. If the opponent wants to waste a large number of shots on a small unit then so be it. If a unit is reduced to a nob and he roles on mob table he will only fail on 4-6 because he can't hurt himself. I'm not terribly worried about units being erased in a 1000 point game. I'm also thinking I'll try to capitalize on turbo boost jinking first turn for the +1 to cover save. I'm gambling on the opponent not having tons of ignore cover and if they do I'll assault them to tie them up for a turn or so. Multiple squads also allowed me to take more klaws and big choppas.

Solo deffkoptas or no deffkoptas imo. If you run 2-3 Deffkoptas per squad they only have to kill 1 model before forcing LD7 checks and that's no bueno. Since you are only running 1 CAD, you don't have many options. But 3 solo Deffkoptas is still better than 2x3 or 3x2 imo. 1x5 had a little bit more durability but it's not that hard to get through 4 wounds (2 Koptas) with 4+ or 4+ cover.

I'd invest the point else were. 3x1 Deffkopta is the way to run them.

Swap the 3 additional deffkoptas for some camping kannons and lobbas in the backfield? They wouldn't keep up with the bikes, but they'd be tough against shooting and have reasonable damage output against medium-sized vehicles

Sorry I didn't post sooner I had my wisdom teeth out the other day. I swept the tournament with this list. I went undefeated and beat out Iperial fists, Dark eldar with Quinn allies, and Blood Angels. First game was contact list against the fists. I won 9-3, second game was deadlock against DE and I won 10-4, and the last game was crusade vs blood Angels and I won 8-5. The army was just too fast for any opponents and T5 everything with twinlinked was hard to kill. Koptas did well and I only had 2 occasions where a squad ran. I jinked the hell out of a lot of stuff. Snap shooting twin linked isn't terrible. People just couldn't deal with me being in there face turn 1 jinked on 3+ or 2+ for Zhads unit just to shoot them assault them turn 2.
