Below is a 1850 list for Chaos. I am curious as to people's opinions on how competetive this list is.

Foreswarn Knight detachment

1 Fallen Knight w/ meltagun , 2 rapid fire battle cannons (w/heavy stubbers), iron storm Missle pod.

1 fallen Knight w/ meltagun, 2 Thermal Cannons, storm spear missle pod.

Black Crusade detachment

Lord of Black Crusade- Typhus

Core- Lost and Damned
1 dark apostle w/ MoN
8 x 10 plague Zombies

Auxiliary- veterans of the Legion
Plague marines. 2 plasma guns power axe on champ.

1850 exact.

So, obviously- the Knights provide most of the Dakka. Basic plan is to have the Dark Apostle and Typhus hang out with the plague marines on an objective somewhere, provide some protection towards the backfield. Knights just bombard enemy lines. Zombies March forward. For those who don't know, the formation rules for the zombies puts them in outflank reserve on a 4+ if the unit is destroye, and every time they are destroyed they can roll again... Slow marching zombies but feel like they will be quite a problem for enemy if they are ignored. Even if they are killed, there's a 50-50 chance they come back in outflank reserve and are in the enemy backfield next turn.

Alternate idea was to drop the knights, bring a winged Nurgle Prince with level 3, black mace and familiar... Couple more squads of plague marines in rhinos and a bunch of solo nurgle spawn.

Not knowing much about Chaos, this looks pretty cool!

I understand that Typhus makes the cultists into zombies, and that's cool. What's the plan for reaching out to far-flung objectives? Also, wouldn't you want a lot more zombies to make this sort of thing work..? like... 200+? (Also, do they have objective secured in this formation?)

Maybe swap the knights for the Heldrake auxiliary choice (maybe take 3?) and then just spam as many more zombies as you can?

Basic idea for far out objectives is to have zombies claim from outflank after they die or to have Knights grab when they are freed up to move due to enemy being tied up with zombies.

The knights give me 4 -S8 ap3 large blasts, 2- S9 ap1 large blasts, plus the rest of their weapons each turn... I kinda feel 80 zombies should be enough.. Especially as they come back into outflank on a 4+ upon being destroyed. I would probably want more if they didn't have that rule. They are fearless and have FNP so should be tieing up anything they get in combat (except dedicated CC units) for at least a turn or 2.

Unfortunately- zombies are not obsec in this detachment (that would be amazing!) but everything except the knights has Hatred(armies of the imperium)

Nice. Can you take the heldrake formation though instead of the veterans as your aux choice? Seems like those things are too good to pass up... (just saying that from the perspective that i hate fighting them LOL)

Theoretically- but I have to take a min of 2. That's 370 points. My auxiliary now is at 165 pts. That less than a single Heldrake. I would have to lose half my zombies and all my plague marines.. At that point the list falls apart as it is trying to do too many different things... And it totally loses all of it "cool because it's {kinda} fluffy" bonus....

I have a fluffy thousand sons list that utilizes a bunch of Heldrakes.. The basic idea is massed AP3... Playing Chaos marines is tough! Putting together a list that makes at least a little bit of sense fluff wise and can actually win is a challenge.. But a challenge I love to try to achieve.

I could make a list without the knights, doing the same thing- and add a few Heldrakes, a daemon Prince, and some more plague marines... That could be pretty nasty! ... But trying to find a way to make my 2 renegade knights really work.

Ah ok. I don't know much about (or even see) Chaos on the table... except for the usual lame screamer star or cabal star, etc. etc.

I totally like where you're coming from and some gross plagued-up knights would look really cool in this type of thematic list!

3 LRD, extra crew, militia-79
3 LRD, 2 with extra crew, 1 single, militia -76

Forsworn:
2 Wardens-750

total=1848

Stupid 3pt extra crew would push it to 1851.

The biggest problem with Unending Host is that people like to load up on melta guns and try to run them across the map. They are slow and it takes forever to march them. So i get more use out of them by sitting them and shooting the heavy guns.

Can i get a thank you or sorry this is not what I am looking for?

The Unending host are like zombies in that they are endless and respawning. If they die, they outflank.
