Hey ya'll just wanted to show off my Black Templar collection as i'm coming back around from lots of Eldar painting to my Templar HQs. I've been collecting since i was a wee lad in the nineties to play with and in senior year high school i bought black Templar starter pack and painted them horribly. I got back into the game in 7th when some friends started to get into it. I Green soaked all my models and scrubbed them clean to start over. Ever since i bought a standing light/ magnifying glass for tinkering from radio shack when i worked there 2/3 years ago i have been painting furiously. Off and on. Coming back from Eldar painting has been nice because Templars are of one set of colors generally and Eldar are over the place in colors, but this really helped broaden my painting horizon. With my Close combat crusade squads i really wanted them to be unique modelling positions giving them battle poses and indifferent disdain, etc. it was a long process but i love the result of most of them. Please Tell Me What Ya Think!!

What's the basing scheme going to be?

Thats a really good question! I havent the slightly idea yet, i havent done any basing Ever! but i need to start practicing for sure on some older models. probably just dirt/mud with a little bit industrial. my group usually play on green felt with dark grey ruins and such so it wouldnt really match but im sure we'll upgrade to a mat eventually here. Do you have a preference on what to base with? as in is it easier/fun-er/better-looking to do sand or grassy stuff or something else?

Basing is entirely your preference and what looks good to you. It definitely helps to have a unifying theme, for example my Templars are generally Armageddon themed so lots of industrial basing and dust. The value of the games workshop new mounded bases is actually very good so that's always a good place to start, or get som old bases and try different schemes on them. It's really not difficult to base models, and it really helps to finish the models off

"Trust in the Emperor at the hour of battle.
Trust to him to intercede, and protect his warriors true as they deal death on alien soil.
Turn their seas to red with the blood of their slain.
Crush their hopes, their dreams
And turn their songs into cries of lamentation."
- "Uphold the honour of the Emperor",
