Hey all, just getting back into WH40K and with it the modeling. I used to build as a kid and was into WW2 stuff about 10 years ago but haven't assembled or painted anything since. Just getting back into it now. Here's one of my first attempts on a Chaos Lord for my KDK army. Didn't come out too bad but lots of room for improvement of course. Hope you enjoy!

PS the cape was my first attempt at some "wet blending". The outside came out pretty good. Blended the inside of it from red down at bottom up to a dark brown/black.

Really good work, the cape is beautiful and the base is nice and retro My only advice is that I'd like to see some more colours on the armour and cape than just reds, some variation would be better. Great job returning from the hobby though.

Thanks! Yeah I was on the fence about the cape color wise. I tried to do the oranges to break it up a bit but after it was done it was still too much red overall kinda. Lessons for next time is all. Definitely going to work more on the slight highlights to bring out the details and colors more as well. Thanks again for the kind words. It'll only get better from here.

PS your sig... Amon Amarth?

I agree that there is a tad too much red on the model, but overall you've done a really solid job. I know I'd be chuffed with that if I'd come back after some time off!

Keep up the good work

Yes, amazing band. Saw them in winnipeg live once, it was pretty amazing.

Well, welcome back! That "attempt" is beautiful, and an excellent addition to the model. Is a tad too red for me though.
