Greetings peoples!

This is a random ass question but... has anyone on the forum designed/made/created artwork for gaming/wargaming mats? ie: the 6x4 size from mouse mat material (or similar)?

I am looking into it out of curiosity - and thought to have a go, but wanted to know if anyone on the dakkadakka forum had already done this?

Any pointers/info would be of great assistance.

Thanks in advance

I've been going through google maps and doing just that. Works quite well but just wondered if anyone else had done something similar.

Cheers

Getting sufficiently hi-res imagery is challenging. You really need aerial imagery.

Some US imagery is available for free.

All of the UK government owned imagery (including the WW2 stuff) was sold and the company that owns them now wants a lot of money for hi-res extracts.

I designed one last week, for my personal use. I was aiming for 120*180cm in 150ppp , but had to change to 100ppp due to filesize. I just uploaded some preview images. It's was all done in Photoshop, and the goal is to play some Flames of War on it.
