-An expansion for the original Mutant Chronicles Siege of the Citadel board game
Quite a while ago, long before there were any rumors about any new release of Siege of the Citadel, I made this expansion. I had no intention to try to have other than some of my friends to play it, but I happened to put in way to much energy in making it. It turned out pretty well, it was a good feel to it, and I am quite proud of it so I will give the material a chance to pass on to others that hopefully might find some joy in taking it further. Myself have no time or possibility to work with this so I can only hope to see something happen with it by other brains and hands.
The material is (of course) made to fit with the original Siege of the Citadel and it takes place in a cave system under the Alakhais Citadel, which makes it both visually and narratively smooth in large campaign with tiles from both the original box and the expansion. There is a new type of card that has tile specific events and I have taken great care to let all the tiles have a unique strategic layout and that all of them fit together both for gameplay and graphically. There is also a new campaign with around six scenarios. As for rules the intention is to have as few changes to the original game as possible. However, since the board can get very large, especially of combined with the original tiles, and also because there are some narrow passages some modifications for speeding up the game is suitable. Faster movement, more actions, and/or automatic fire for clearing out legionaries is suggested, and better armor for the DoomTroopers so they can survive a longer scenarios. Play testing is needed for this.
So the main thing here is the tiles and I would be excited to see them or the other stuff be used in some other way too. Everything is backed up as photoshop files with multiple layers and I have used photoshop effects instead of images as far as possible. This is for two purposes: 1) easily modify and/or make new tiles that fit in. It is as easy to change the size of a room in a tile as to use use the brush in Photoshop 2) easily maintain the same graphical (oldschoolish) design. All text is in Swedish, the original language of the game, but if you would like it translated to English I'll fix that, just let me know.
I am surely quite obviously not active on the board game scene but I still would like to both give this material a chance to be played and give others the possibility to play it, since I am actually quite proud of it. Please help me to put this on the right channels where possible interested people can see it.
Post here to get download access the the material. With all the revisions it is around 15 gigs.
Have a look at the pictures of my printed physical demo, enjoy!
