Decided to finally get my hands on the Ironjawz!

Got the Skirmish box set for 'em and was very pleased with the value I got of it. I will set a goal to make myself a small force for 1000 points for AoS and will try them out in Skirmish. Current objectives are to finish 5 'Ardboyz and then start the Brutes. After that I shall "reward" myself with painting the Shaman. I will also try to write a narrative for the tribe. Basically I want to create a tribe that is primarily stationed on the frozen peaks of a Mortal Realm. Why they are there and what they want, I have no clue, they are Orruks after all.

Hey guys, painted up another one. This time I decided to break up the grey with more blue. Hope it came out better. Also I find the black background to work better with lighter colors.

Great paint scheme! I can imagine these boyz trekking through a blizzard in search of their next kill.

They are very neat and I love the colours but he's a little flat need more highlights and weathering affects.

This looks great! Can I ask how you pulled off the ice effects beneath the snow flock? It looks like a layer of translucent ice and is a really nice touch.

Thanks for the quick reply mate! So essentially, I start by putting a layer of Armageddon Dust (GW texture paint). After its dry, I apply Agrax Earthshade, once its dry I drybrush Tyrant skull. After that I apply a thick layer of Valhallan Blizzard, how thick you want it is a taste preference. Once it's dry apply a layer of gloss varnish. Also it doesn't look as shiny IRL, white is a very strong light reflector and that's why it's so shiny here. IRL it's still shiny though.

Thanks for the heads up! It's been ages since I had to buy new paint so I think they've switched the names on me a bit I'll have to do some research.

The only name change is Devlan Mud-->Agrax Earthshade, everything else are new paints.

Hoo boy.... I think it's about time I visited a GW again. The texture paints are those new ones they came out with that are a bit grainy right?

Yep. Its literally paint and sand mixed together. However there are some that crack up when dried. Like agrellan earth and martian ironeath, and one more, I forgot which one.

This is a tribe of boys id be very afraid of haha, great work man the little scratches and nicks on the armor are really nicely done

Interesting move GW, interesting move....

Nice work, better then my painting , but the gray isn't doing it for me, maybe a slightly darker gray with mild highlights, just a suggestion. Good job regardless.
