These are the first miniatures I've painted in a little over a decade, and my first Warhammer 40,000 miniatures. I'm looking for any feedback concerning my colours and technique. Also, I know the shoulder pad trim needs a colour, but I haven't decided on the company yet.

Asides from the Shoulder pad bit tht you already touched on, it looks pretty good.

fairly clean and nothing to really fault.

though id say the bases look a little off with the lack of texture then a sudden rock outcropping with non of the base colors on it.

thats about the only thing that stands out.

Thanks. Yes, I've been meaning to add a few more textures to the bases (rocks and such). I thought the texture already on the base might be enough, but I suppose not.

Texture paint is really easy to make or just buy for dubs.

I think they're great. Waaaaay better than my first marines.

Peeps mentioned texture paint from GW, it would make the bases pop a lot more.

As for the mini's they look good. Good control, to really step them up a notch try the 'rule of three'. Base coat, wash, re-basecoat (leaving wash showing), then highlight with a lighter colour. Then do some googling on 'edge highlighting'. Play with that for a bit and you'd be in great shape!

I'd also like to compliment your photos.. the amount of terrible photo's people upload especially when asking for feedback is startling. Well done on taking some quality shots so people can give you direct feedback.

Keep it up, welcome to the marine addiction.
