First, I apologize for the less than marvelous pictures. I don't have a good set up to take pictures.

I've decided to make my marines raptors but I'm having problems making the paint scheme come alive for me. I know they are the more "tactical" of the chapters and that lends them to the basic drab scheme. Just looking for some tips/advice/And feedback on what I can do to jazz up my raptors.

The only thing I have semi complete is this Land raider. I'm happy with the weathering but still feels stale. There's still some of the emblems to paint but i wasn't sure if it would be more fitting to have them left painted drab. Thanks in advanced for the feedback

Top grade weathering you got there, real good looking paint job. I'd leave it as it is. Maybe pick out a small panel or two in a bright colour if that's what your after, yellow always works with sludge green. Maybe hazard stripes if your not after too much.. but your army your call

From Endor to Hoth, Ripley to Spock, I'll get what you want but there's Gunna be a cost

If you're looking to add some colour while at the same style keep the military theme I would suggest:
1. Edge highlighting - it will brighten the model up a bit while at the same time leaving the model in the same colour
2. Add some insignia, freehanded or with decals. Real militaries sometimes do this, so it won't break the theme
3. Add some glow. For example the coils on the lascanon, lenses and lights.Again this won't break the camo theme.

I'd echo edge highlighting and insignia. There are also a ton of details you have not picked out. Skulls, aquilas, scrolls, rivets, the round metal pegs on the sides along the tracks.

I appreciate the feedback. I am going to put some decals on as soon as I print them off. probally just on the sponsons and some on the front. as far as the edge highlighting, im unsure of how I would do this because a lot of the weathering is along the edges and I don't want to paint over the weathering. would I just go over the spots that don't have any weathering?

Another way to spruce things up is, since the Raptors are more "Tactical" in their nature, it's not unheard of for Marines to use Camouflage for their field operations. That'll help break up the whole drab look in a practical way.

I like the idea of camoflauge. Know of any good tutorials for someone of limited skill?

I'd put a large Raptors chapter emblem over the upper surface of the tank. Like fill the available space with just enough green left to frame it. It will make the whole model pop visually and can be explained as an aerial recognition sign
