I'm getting back into wh40k which was probably a bad idea, but I'm going to start painting minis after a very long hiatus. I'm. Collecting paints, mostly the cheaper. Ones for base colors and some inks. From army painter. I'm building a rack to hold my paints and inks uprigbt.

I call it my "paintstation". Construction is well underway.

It's pretty cheap, I paid like 4$ for a 4" wide, 8' long board and to have it cut into. 2 4' pieces abd 4 1' pieces. The rest of the wood was around my house.

A drill, some screws, a saw and some good wood glue got it all. Together.

I plan to put a big handle on top abd maybe put some sort of door or something to hold toe paints in.

What? Aesthetics? You were expecting aesthetics? I play iron warriors for. Xxxx's sake.

And yes it's. Overbuilt and will easily hold 50x more weight than it was designed to. Deal with. Again, Iron Warriors player.

It's a good start. Having been through a few iterations myself there are a couple of things I'd suggest.

I wouldn't have a door - it always ends up in the way. If you need to close the front for transporting it then have a removable front panel instead.

Similarly, the large base is going to restrict where you can put it. Four legs that rotate out gives you the same stability but more flexibility.

Some good ideas, if only it weren't screwed and glued together....

you could uses velcro or bungee cords to hold the paints in.

For the base you could put holes to hold paint bottles with a center bit or circular saw. So you could have your wash cup and paints your using out but stuck in so they are wondering away from you.

I would put a water proof varnish on too.
