I starting playing 40K again after 8th appeared on the scene and simplified it to a more appealing game. This time I decided to indulge my creative fantasy and took up Orks, to only find out the codex wouldn't drop until around December this year... However, I always loved conversions and over the period of a year have made a wide range of them for my army. Any comments and feed back is welcome, allot of the stuff is still in early stages of painting as I'm far more into making the models than painting them. But I'm re teaching my self, after years of taking the easy root and having a skeleton army...
To list so far the conversions and scratch builds I have done:
Truck
4x Grot Tanks
4x Mek Gunz
Dakka Jet
Chinork Warkopter
Kill Tank
3 x Skortchas
Warboss in Mega Armour
Warboss
Big Mek with Kustom force field
Alternative arm for Stompa
Nob with Warg banner
There may be more that I can't recall off the top of my head.

The Dakka jet was my second conversion. This was made from a shampoo bottle. I used carpet tape to help the original form, then kept adding to it. This one was a mix of what every recyclables I could find, bottle tops, what ever was available at the time.
Latter ok, I happened upon a large amount of 1mm PVC sheeting. This plus the odd bits and bobs which i like the shape of is what I biuld most things out of. I do now use green stuff for the more intricate things, but i'm still relatively new with green stuff.
I can put some kind of tutorial up, but in truth I will have an idea in mind and I will simply biuld as I go, often I'll go "that looks cool as I size something up" Then one thing will lead to the next and eventually a finished product is made.
I suppose this would be my tutorial;
1. Have a design in mind (it's got to represent what your making or no one will let you play it)
2. make sure you have a resources to make it, plastics, wires, pipes ect. (Bare in mind most things can be made with a little careful skill out of sheet plastic.)
3. build it is segments, where you have a bit that has allot of details, biuld the components then make them fit (with orks if it doesn't quite match up stick a plat over the top and it looks like it was went to be there) When making your components ad little nicks and details to is at this stage. I find with orks using your knife random cuts and gauges will look great.
4. Put all your parts together, this is when you see what else may be lacking and when I add things like pipes, wires and additional plates for detail. (For wires I will normally use foraged old wires or take my PVC and cut a really thin piece off with a pair or scissors, this will make a slight squared off squiggle. With the naturally formed shapes from this you can find the right one to fit, they are still slight malleable and when painted you never notice they are actually squared of.
5. The final stage for me is adding spikes and bolts. For the bolts I use my knife to cut essentially loads of tiny cuts along and sheet then cut each layer out to get thousands of less than 1mm squares, I'll do this once a build and keep them in a pot. I will make some specially cut out larger bolts. I'm not going to lie this bit takes time, I use a thin spike, apply glue to where you want them to go, then pick it up with the spike, when you place it in the glue it will release it from the spike and so on. If you want to look like something has been welded, use slight too much glue once it sets you will get the appearance that bolt or item has been welded to the plate.
With my next build I'm working on is a lifta dropper wagon, I'll do a full picture run through of making it.

Really nice work. Although, I wouldn't say you have a conversion addiction. You chose Orks. Conversion is almost a requirement. If you want to see what true conversion addiction looks like, check out my stuff. I've been playing for over a decade, have owned literally thousands of models over several factions (none of which were Orks) and I can count on 1 hand the number of those models that were not converted in some way or another. -

You are right red does go faster. However, my Orks are all about being the sneakiest as no one can see them. Well at least that's what they believe. In regards to the arm, I bought a stompa second hand but it did not have the sword arm so I though no biggy I'll just make one until I get my lifta dropa arm built.

My goal eventually is to make a Kustom stompa, but that is a big project, once I've finished my next two projects, half trakk and Lifta' droppa wagon. I will then look at that project.
