After an 8 year break from the hobby I'm back and I've never been more motivated to complete my fallen angels army.
Since the release of the DA 8th ed codex I have wanted to find a way to bring Marbas to the table.
For those of you who don't know, he is the daemon prince responsible for releasing luther from the rock.

Below are photos of my process and final result.

The kitbash included an old metal csm daemon prince, the metal wings from the oop lord of change model (lucky to pick this up of a mate who no longer collects), and the plastic manticore head from the AoS model.

I used the description of Marbas in the dark angels codex as my inspiration:

"His Warp-constructed body seems designed to mock the Dark Angels, as it is covered in the unmistakable elements of the First Legion's armour and his head is shaped like one of ancient Caliban's much-feared lions."

I decided to paint his wings in the dark angels green also in mockery of the "loyalist" dark angels. Although I was considering keeping them black to keep the model looking quite dark.

I'm really happy with how it turned out and I was forced to learn new hobby skills including pinning which is something i had never done before unfortunately (all my old metal models are now suffering because of this).

The cloak is made from tissue paper and pva glue, also something I had never done before. The idea of making a large cloak with greenstuff that would actually look good was quite daunting, and after coming across a tutorial on how to make cloaks with tissue and pva I gave it a go. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I have since had people recommend baby wipes which I would also love to try.

Anyway I hope you guys enjoy the model, the next step is to seal him and get him onto a table to slay some dark angels.

Solid kitbash, I mean its heresy, but solid none the less!

I may have to hunt down a pair of those wings myself, they look proper imposing, if not slightly unwieldy.

Hello fishwaffle2232, Thank You for showing Your work on creating Your Fallen Angel Daemon Prince. I like that You used the original black armor from the Dark Angel Legion colors. It's cool that You gave him robes over his armor so that the model has a Warrior Monk look to it. Neat that You put a Dark Angels Legion Emblem on the shoulder pauldron. The sword looks really ominous being a black blade the glowing runes on it.

I have never seen a Fallen Dark Angels Daemon Prince before so this is a real treat to see. I appreciate You sharing Your art work!

The wings are Lord of Change wings. I have an extra metal pair, if you need help locating a pair.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Thanks for the comments guys. The wings are usually pretty hard to track down so if timetowaste85 has them that is a good find. They are quite large and heavy so if you end up working with them you will need to pin them.
