Evening all,

Started painting a small squad of Necron warriors, following the same guide from WHTV.

All is well, metallic looking awesome however I'm really struggling to paint the Necron 'tubes', green just does not paint well for me!

The tubes themselves was not attached to any spruce during construction, after spraying/painting they appear to have small, fine 'lines' which was noticed after applying a thin coat of warp-stone glow as layer ontop abandon black.

Resulting in a slightly lumpy surface, instead of the smooth green I'm looking for. I have yet to add green/yellow highlights which may result in the 'lines' or 'lumps' becoming unnoticeable. Do these tubes require sanding?

In addition, while the paint drys the watery/wet appearance on the tubes looks amazing before drying. Is their a possible paint which provides a 'wet look'

cheers guys

Are these lines you refer to the mold lines? Just scrape them off with a blade.

If you want a brighter green try painting over white.

Use 2 thin coats of green. Then add a little yellow to the green and paint your highlight along the middle of the tube.

Clean off all mould lines for all models. Drill holes in those barrels. Some yellow could help. Use a clear coat like Ard Coat for shiny.

Necrons don't really have any barrels to drill out...

Never paid attention to the models. Just added it as a rule of thumb alongside cleaning mould lines since it appears that was overlooked.
