Hey guys, I've been working on a small collection of Stormcast and I'm painting them up as Celestial Vindicators (because their scheme is delicious) and I'm now going to be adding a group of Free Peoples to join them. The fluff is that my Stormcast leader, Krailos, was a king but fell to Khorne for strength he desperately wanted, but after being blasted into Azyr by Ghal Maraz, he's been reforged into a Stormcast bro full of revenge on the Chaos who poisoned his mind and corrupted his people. He's now collecting the splinted remnants of his kingdom and is leading them once again under a new banner.

ANYWAY, what do you think of the dude I painted?

Works really well. I do think the purply-red spot colour from the Stormcast's pteruges should also be carried over to his little friend, though. Maybe paint the ribbons attached to his dagger that colour?

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

Thanks Duskwaver

I was considering doing a few of them quartered the blue and white and others quartered the blue and red, but keep the shields always blue and white

I’d stick with the blue and white quarters, looks lovely and matches stormcast well, agree a spot colour of the purple would work well, a ribbon or feather. Going to be a great looking army. I like the free people in AOS. The mortal realms seem a really horrible place to live.

I'll echo the sentiment he needs more of the purplish red of the stormcast, maybe look at making the leather on him more of a reddish leather to achieve that? Or perhaps use the shield, it's a good space for a spot colour. Perhaps the skull could be red with a gold crown (the king's old heraldry or something?)

Love the fluff too by the way.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Thanks guys
Making their feathers the red (Screamer Pink) would look great as an addition, awesome idea. And the skull being that colour with a gold crown is also an interesting idea, though I don’t think all the shields have it. But totally worth a try

More pics too mate. Start a project log. Be cool to see it develop and see more of your stormcast.

Thanks Andykp. I tend to get distracted by other things but I’m enjoying these guys more than usual so I’ll see what I can do
