When you buy a box of necron immortals you get a lot of extra parts, like 3 full sets of weapons and an extra set of heads.

Just breaks my heart to see all that going to waste, it does.

I was thinking of taking some deathmark heads and guns to stick on warrior bodies to make some more death marks. The one eyed heads and rifles clearly mark them as death marks, so I'm playing fair. Also not wasting all those parts that came with the immortals.

It's pretty clear that the best thing to do with am immortals box is make 5 immortals with Tesla carbine, but that doesn't mean I have to, let along want to, waste those potential deathmarks.

So how would you feel if someone used warriors with deathmark heads and guns as death marks? Fair play or not? I kinda wonder if most people would even notice.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

The models are near enough the same size, so if you used the heads and guns - which are clearly distinct and indicative of what the unit is - then I don't see how anyone would have an issue.

I’d be amazed if most people *notice* let alone protest about it!

No problem whatsoever as far as I'm concerned. I'm not the biggest fan of Immortal bodies myself and figured it would be worth looking into converting some using Warrior bodies. Another project for the growing pile, so who knows when I'll get to it. But Necrons have somewhat modular kits and it would be a shame not to make use of that.

There's that. Xenos armies can often get away with things unnoticed that would raise an eyebrow in Imperial armies.

But as mentioned the models will be WYSIWYG in so far as they clearly denote Deathmarks through the use of the appropriated heads and weapons, I don't think it's in any way dodgy at all.

It works fine. Use the hoods and glowy spheres from the back torso pieces as well, and they maintain the exact silhouette.

Just make sure to use the larger infantry bases instead of the ones provided in the Warriors kit.

My rule is it needs to be easily identifiable from the other side of a table and the bases need to be the correct size.

Dangerous ground bringing in base size.

Both my immortal and warrior boxes had 25’s in them when I bought them, so that was ‘correct’ when I built them.
Where now both boxes have 32’s.

On the topic, I made 5 Tesla, 5 Gauss and 5 Deathmarks from each box by using warrior bodies for the remaining spares (Tesla got the proper body, as they attach to the gun).
I didn’t actually use the Deathmarks torso backs either - literally warriors holding the sniper and a cyclopean Head.
I’m away at the mo but can provide pics..

Hey I still have original terminators and obliterators that use small bases that came with them. If gw sells 'em with a certain base then I file that base is allowed. Now on a conversion someone might feel they have a right to cmpain but if they're that much of a dick I probably don't want to game with them anyway.

Its been confirmed by GW themselves that you may base your models on "any base they came with". So you can still run them on whatever they came with before.

Ditto.

The warrior legs only just for on a 25, I wish they’d been 32 back then, but I’m not redoing all mine.
The immortal deathmark legs actually fit ok on 25’s
