As the title said. I am searching for a Crusade RP. Last time I was really active I was apart of an awesome one with Chazz, War Kitten, Befriender, EoN, Sgt_Smudge and others. I want to do another to keep building the story of 487th Lunar Venatorii Panther Cavalry Regiment.

So few have responded to my search. So let's make one. Those that have interest in this post here and we will build a crusade in a time after the Great Rift on the Eastern Rm of the Galaxy. Post Xeno/Heretic/Imperium and then we will break it up to see how this falls out.

Cool, So I am bringing Imperium as that is what all my armies are. For setting limits and making sure this is a bit fair. What everyone think is a fair force projection? And I understand that not everyone is created equal I am looking for rough equivalents. For me One or more Astra Militarum Regiments.

So after talking it over with some people when we start this it will be a bit looser on posting order and time. Basically theme will be a constant grinding war where gains and losses will be more in people than actually advancing far. Think of it like the great wars of Armegeddon or a Black Crusade which took years.
Copied from Crusade of Fury because I intend to use the same grading.
Grading scale courtesy of Sgt Smudge. Use the experimental one below for now.
Spoiler:
This is my best way of recreating it, and I think for streamlining purposes, neutral/draw can be removed.
Major Victory: 0 < 5
Victory: 6 < 10
Minor Victory: 11 < 25
Minor Defeat: 26 < 35
Defeat: 36 < 45
Major Defeat: 46 < 50
Looking at this now, there really is a huge chance of getting over 50, but there needs to be a risk of getting Major Defeats even when playing 50s. Not a perfect system by any means, and I wouldn't object to a fairer method.

It makes a lot of sense. How the system works is the person who wants to commit to an action picks a number between 1-100, the person managing the roll (preferably a third party) rolls a D100
How close your number was to the one generated decides your fate pretty much.

I am making this up as I go as the last few crusades I did were run by Chazz or others on different sites. As far as more information when we start I will post up the astro message or whatever that explains why we are where we are at. I just kind of need to know the kinds of numbers we are looking at who is bringing what factions to make it fit somewhat.
So far we have two Imperials, a Imperial/Necron/Tyranid player.
Thinking either Tomb world or Tyranid invasion. I personally favor attacking a Tau planet but that is because my units are from the Eastern Arm.

So right now we have a two on one scenario. Befriender agreed to play a powerful Necron force. I am playing my Cavalry Guard and Bob said he would bring Siege Krieg. <Knowing their lore will have truly large numbers> Anyone else want to speak up for the beginning? It's okay if you all don't as this will be a pick up and drop kind of story building RP.

AdmiralHalsey wrote:I'm still interested in details as to how you're actually going to run it, not being familiar with the other sites or the names of the other posters you've quoted.
How it usually works is we have 1 or 2 'managers' that help handle the rolls. It'll kinda play out like this.
Some intro will be set up, 'Planet X is under threat, in need of reinforcements' or 'We're here to purge xenos'. People usually post their first writing introducing their faction into the setting. You're free to write for your faction however you please but whenever you make an action that affects factions other than yourself, then you contact a manager and explain. This is where you usually make your rolls, the other faction's write is notified, and after all parties are aware of the outcome, you can write a piece for it.
For example, lets say I've written up an intro piece for my space marine chapter who's responding to a request from a planet being attacked by chaos. Now I decide I'd like to use auspexes and other such resources to get information on the enemy. I let the manager and the chaos player know my intention and pick the number 63. The manager rolls a 52 which is within 11 of my number, constituting a Minor Victory. So I get a general assessment of the enemy, what factions they might be, but nothing too specific. I don't feel I'd have enough material write something yet so I go again, letting the previous parties know I'd like to send a scouting party. I pick 88 but the manager rolls a 45, since the difference is 43 I suffer a defeat. My scouting party gets close, but before they can acquire any useful information they're found out and killed.
Now I think I'd have enough material for another blurb, so I'll get to working on my piece about gathering information on the enemy and how the scouting party was defeated. This also gives the Chaos player a chance to either write it into their own piece or react to it.
Usually these Crusades (See Crusade of Fire and Crusade of Fire 2: Electric Boneman Boogaloo) are quite intensive on person to person reactions. So the goal with this one is to create a setting where the people involved don't need to quite rely on each other to produce interesting material.
If anyone has any questions I'll answer them best I can.

A intro as done by Ezra is up maybe that will help with that more information. Befriender since your the only confirmed Xeno player you can be the threat. Necron or cult or both however you want to make it work. Everyone else who is imperium can start on how they gathered their forces and got to be over the planet.

Good good. I am 0lanning my regiments entry. I think I will bring two regiments that work together as 487th is small for a regiment. 487th Cavalry and the 225th Armored Seige should do. That will be around 5000 effective and half that support. Very mechanized. 'Wyrm Guard' and 'Lunar Valkyries' , I will make some changes to reflect theme.

From Lexicanum:
The Corinthian Crusade took place in 698.M41. Over fifty Imperial Guard regimentsand detachments of six Adeptus AstartesChapters (Including the Ultramarines, Lamenters, Marines Errant, Angels of Absolution, and Silver Skulls[1]) took part in the Crusade, intended to liberate the star system of Corinth from the Ork Warlord, Skargor the Despoiler. The overall Imperial effort was led by Lord Macragge Marneus Calgar.[1]
History
Skargor's Waaagh! was slowly pushed back to the world of Corinth itself, where he had been building and improving on the planet's already formidable defences. The planning of the operation was given to the Space Marines of the Ultramarines chapter. Within three months Imperial forces had secured a landing and pushed Skargor back into a siege of the planet's principal fortress. Soon the artillery of the Imperial Guard had created a significant breach in the outer defences and the Ultramarines' Chapter Ancient, Galatan, stormed the breach carrying the Banner of Macragge. Thousands died in the nine-day effort to storm the breach. Skargor lead the defence personally, but the attackers inexorably forced the defending Orks back, until on the ninth day Warboss Skargor met Ancient Galatan in single combat. Skargor was finally thrown down and the breach taken, although it cost Galatan's life.[Needs Citation]
During the Crusade, the Lamenters battled the Grenskins in the Liberation of Slaughterhouse III, launching a surprise assault on an Ork slave-mining world. While the attack was a complete success, the Lamenters took heavy losses and were reluctantly forced to kill many of the Human prisoners they had liberated lest they fall back into Greenskin captivity. The traumatic experience left them embittered and horrified by their "victory".[2]
Corinth is an Imperial world that was liberated from the Orkish Waaagh! Skargor in 698.M41, during the Corinthian Crusade.[Needs Citation]
