Ok, guys.
I have a question for the modellers/converters out there.
I'm kitbashing some of my custom
SM models as a mix of fallen/mechanicus.
Flowing robes, covering hoods and cowl, ancient armor marks, maybe heretek.
I tried using skitarii ranger heads on my mk3/
DA veteran bodies, but they looked a bit off to me.
A bit too small and slim, compared to the "hood over helmet" size and shape of
DA veteran hooded heads.
. . .
Since
DA veteran hooded heads are expensive on bits sites, and I wanted some variety anyway, I turned to third party producers.
Long story short, I sent an email to the Puppetswar guys, asking for info about comparative size and shape of their Tech Monk heads.
They couldn't help me: "We don't do
GW, so we can't compare our bits to
GW models; our head bits are 6.5 by 6.5
mm".
This doesn't help me much.
I still don't know how much of that is the actual head and how much the neck and connecting nub; what their general size and shape is, and how they fit on marine bodies.
. . .
So, question is:
how do puppetswar/spellcrow hooded heads compare to DA Veteran hood-over-helmet head bits, size and shape?
Has any of you tried the same kind of kitbash with third party hooded heads and GW marine bodies?
Thanks for any help you can throw my way.
