Hi, i was just curious how people go about making custom transfers? I am looking to make some Steel Confessor ones as i wont get a decent consistency if i have to paint them haha
I would like to make a few of say 3 different sizes for infantry then getting bigger to vehicles/knights.

I've done a fair few transfers, using inkjet printers, laser printers, white transfer paper and clear transfer paper. Quite a bit of trial and error.

Unfortunately, the design that you want to do is a combination of two elements that are difficult to make work together; namely the intricate outline and the white in the centre.

Regular printers don't do white, there is a particular type of printer that does white, but they are mucho dinero.

Options are to use white transfer paper so you can get that white centre to appear and get soul-destroyingly amazing at cutting each decal out precisely, or use clear transfer paper and paint a little white spot on the model so that it will appear with a white centre part when the transfer is laid over it.

Thank you, yeh i like the latter idea a bit more I Suppose it doesn't need the hilts(or whatever they are called) on the cross either.

Also i had another thought i think ill just make the lightning bolt a light yellow or something that can easily be printed out.

I was thinking that you could always try to freehand the white lightning bolt afterwards if you used clear transfer paper. Depending on the size of the decal and your freehand skills, it could allow you to get the full intricacy of the design done.

As much as i'd like to do it that way and have a bit more pride in it, my freehand isn't that good unfortunately. And i would like to have the consistency over all instances of the decal.

I have done a lot of self made transfers in the past what I would do is either paint a spot of white like said before or use two transfers.

One transfer on clear paper and the little "lightning bolt" on white paper.

I have done this before and it works well
