Dear 40k lovers I come here to seek your help, after years being a smurf SM players I decided to make a Craftworld army as well.
I bought stuff for about 2000 points and because I like the orange colour I decided to paint my army as Lugganath:
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Craftworld?file=Lugganath_Guardian.JPG
I have to say that I'm not familiar with the yellows and oranges colours and I painted so far only the Guardians.
I primed 5 of them in black and other 5 with grey and I used the Citadel colours,I gave to the models two coats of Jokaero Orange and it went okay, though it's very pallid.
So I went to put Fire Dragon Bright because I want to make my men in a vivid orange as in the lore, but here things went really terrible.
I tried to add 3 coats but no matter what the colour doesn't stack well and it gives to the figures a real messy look.
To you that are familiar with the oranges can you please explain what colour do you use to put a nice vivid orange that can give a good uniformity to the models?
Thank you in advanced for your help.

Are you able to post some pictures? Yellows and oranges are notoriously hard to bring up from black...this is known yellows & oranges tend to be on the low opacity scale so lower layers often bleed through. So you inadventartly make every 3rd layer alittle bit thicker but its a fine balance of going too thick and getting a blotchy effect.. Jakeroo is probably too opaque to slap straight on. Definitly too bright to go on straight on black. From experience jakeroo has very little opacity so I would recommend you don't start with that as your base. So I would maybe use gray primer, and Brown. Then Something Like khorn/mephiston red. And then move onto 3-4 layers of jakeroo id that's the colour you want. That should hopefully give you a sloid base. Jekeroo is a very opaque rusty colour IMO. I cant speak for oranges from experience, but for yellows on my black primed stuff I use balor brown base coat, followed by several layers of averland sunset base coat. That gives a slightly yellowish brown base to work up from rather then go straight to yellow. Whatever it is you chosoe to do, the key is with layers being thin and consistent. And a lot of layers. 2-3 layers might not cut it. Research notes: Have you tried looking for tutorials for orange ? Search for a blog on dakka by a guy called Finnan. He has painted the best orange I have ever seen. Obviously don't expect to get the same result without countless hours of tiny layers, but he does break down his recipe amongst his various rambling.

With orange, if you start with black, then watery dark brown(rhinos hide), then macharius solar orange(basecoat type orange), highlight with squig orange/trollslayer orange, extreme highlight with fire dragon bright.

Fudge that.
Paint it orange and then put some Agrax on it. Problem solved.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I tend to highlight up from red.
To be honest though, the Gryph-Hound Orange Contrast paint is really good. The beards on these dwarves were painted using it over the Grey Seer spray primer, with just a few small highlights using Fire Dragon Bright mixed with Ivory. A word of warning though - I don't know how well it would work on larger armour panels. Contrast paints seem to be great on things like hair with a lot of texture, but you can get pooling on armour panels. I was really impressed with how vibrant the colour was though, and how easy it was to use.

I use various automotive acrylic primers. One colour I have is red oxide. This should be a very good base for orange.
Here's a of mini I've started:
& one I finished with an early WIP:
In each case I gave the model a brown ink wash straight over the primer.
You might also like to think about using contrast paints?

I tried to post something similar but got a forum error. Seriously, priming something white and one layer of orange contrast paint will give you a base for a brighter oranges. I tried using Jokero and Fire Dragon on one of my AT scale knights and it’s a mess. This is one layer of contrast orange which I then highlighted Fire Dragon after the pic was taken.

Prime grey. If you insist on priming black, then use a base of mournfang brown or something similar.

I tend to agree with this opinion. If you want the bodysuit to be really black, water down your black until you can use it as a wash. If it's mostly orange, start with an orange basecoat.
Bona fides:
Both examples started with Orange over White/Light Grey primer.
