Subject: How do you paint this GW bone/white color?

Gentlemen, I just saw the new post on the Warhammer Community page showing the Sisters of Battle army box, and there is an epic model in a flying 'pulpit' with a magnificent two-headed eagle on the front of it. My question is, what colors would you use to achieve that bone/white color?

I had result not to far from that with the combination:
Corax White
Ushabti Bone
Seraphim Sepia
heavy drybrush with Terminatus Stone
optional edge highlighting with White Scar

That's most likely a Wraithbone base, shaded with either Aggarax or the skeleton contrast paint, glazed with successive thin layers of white, then edge highlighted.
Personally I think that would look 10x better with marbled veins running through it but that's just me.

When it gets released I'm sure there'll be either na article or recommended paints with the product listing.
I highly doubt any of that is contrast. It'll be the result of some variation of their base, shade, layer, layer system. I'd stake my house on them not doing any glazing simply because it's not their standard approach, but you can also see that the transition from the recess colour to the midtone is pretty blunt

The studio models for photography are done to a higher standard than what Duncan does on YouTube. The transition on the neck and beak are not one pass with a layer paint.

Sometimes they are, sometimes not. It's very inconsistent. You do see examples of genuine blending on some models, even on some parts of models while other parts are very straightforward line highlights.
The neck transition on the eagles just looks like a slight tinting to the base coat froma wash, it's not pooled as severely as in other recesses, followed up with a couple of layers. No need to glaze to get that.

Looks like they've used a warm flesh tone in the recesses. Bugman's Glow or Ratskin Flesh probably. Then progressive highlights of bone and then white. There's at least 4-5 distinct layers there.

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry. |

I'm guessing the main color is Palid Wych Flesh over Rakarth Flesh with a White Scar highlight. The shadows look like they shaded with Reikland Flesh Shade and/or Agrax Earthshade.

Thanks for all the responses guys! It sounds like there are a number of different approaches to try to achieve this color scheme. I guess I will have to get some paints and do some experimenting. The color of that two-headed eagle really caught my eye, because it is not really 'white', neither is it 'bone', it is somewhere in between, making for an attractive neutral color that would contrast nicely with a whole plethora of darker colors.
