Has anyone converted the Death Guard plague marines into Long fangs before? If you have can I see please?

I can’t imagine why anybody would ever use Plague Marines as a starting point if they were looking to make a unit of Longfangs

Well I want to make a unit of long fangs but I think they should be a little bulkier than a regular marine, theyve been holding massive heavy weapons for centuries right?
I just thought the plague marines look like the same heightish as the new marines but a bit bulkier.
I just wondered if anyone else has tried this? Ive ordered the three push fit marines to use a tester.

Unless you have many years of hobby experience, especially with converting and sculpting, I would strongly advise you against using Plague Marines as the basis for Long Fang conversions.

If Devastators + Space Wolves bits aren’t bulky enough for you, you might want to use some of the more bulkier Primaris Marines, or even Chaos Havocs (they are larger than regular CSM).

In the nicest possible way, I think you are setting yourself up for frustration & disappointment if you go down the Plague Marine road, although I would love it if you proved me wrong

Gotta agree here. The only loyalist PM conversion I've ever seen was someone making the DI ones into LOTD and that worked as you could cover various bits in flames and the beaten up armour fit them too.

If you're referring to the push fit PMs, then they simply won't work. There is too much tentacles and other such bits on them that you will need to resculpt a lot of the mini. You're better off using Intercessors if you want "bigger" ones. There are plenty of Primaris Devastator guides out there and it will be far easier on you.

Im inexperienced lol. Im a glutton for punishment. I guess thats why i cant find any pics of plague marine long fangs on google. You say that but i have already ordered the plastic so unfortunately its now a train wreck i personally cannot stop. Thanks for trying to save me from myself though. I will post you some pics up for you to laugh at when the plastic arrives and i butcher them.

You could try to fill the splits in the armour to make them whole again with a putty, cut and file any chaos bits

So you havnt ever seen plague marine long fangs done either? I just wondered what itd look like. Yeah theres loads of tentacles and stuff everywhere looks like a nightmare. And yeah those three push fit ones are the ones ive ordered. The plague marines are primaris height but kinda fatter right?

Yeah that sounds like a good idea, file off the tentacles. I kinda like the splits in the armour though, I want that dark battle worn look that ive seen online with some space wolves armies. A bit dark and grim. I was going to see if i can wear up the edges of other units to have those little battle damaged splits too on future units. Got to get this one done first though and if its impossoble like the other fella said then it might take ages.

Not seen it done before but it's definitely doable. If you've already bought a whole plague marine box then ehhhhh probably a mistake but not the end of the world. There's 2-3 torso and leg pieces in the kit that are pretty nice not heavily NURGLE. For those particular bits it's a case of cutting of 1 or 2 tentacles and calling it done.

Once you've got a torso and leg piece cleaned up then you just need some Long Fang/ Devastator arms, some space wolf heads, a couple of dangly wolf bits, some shoulder pads, backpack - all bits you should have kicking around if you've got a space wolf army already.

Thanks for the reply buddy. Its not quite so bad. I only ordered the mini box of three push fit plague marines to test out the idea.
I was going to start a space wolves army ages ago alas more babies popped out and it never happened. Im having another pop at it though and have got the regular space wolves box to scavenge for wolf bits, got some mk iii bits and some random wulfen bits aswell as three push fit primaris and i bought some random heads on the bay. Im hoping that should be enough bits to fuel it.
This will be the first unit. That long wolf box is just a devestator box with a space wolves upgrade sprue in it right?

Yes, but not the latest Devastator sprue. I think you are better off buying the vanilla devastators and mix it with a Grey Hunters box

This one right? Will try that then. Dont know how will get it onto them fatty plague marines though. I think im going to cut the other plasma pistol there and that other gun up and stick it to the big one so i can have extra plasma thing on the cannon. I like that effect when theyre painted glowy blue so itll be an extra dose of it then.
