Hey everyone,
I'm SUPER new to converting anything, but I've wanted to give it a try for awhile now. Right now I'm working on making some "count as" tanks for a non-chaos traitor guard army. This fella is a Pershing heavy tank from the World War Toons model collection (which is pretty much spot on for the measurements of a leman russ.)

I'm planning on adding a lot more decorative bits to it before it moves on to the priming/painting stage, but am open to more suggestions as well. I like the look of the necron shields and blasters, but I haven't glued them yet (just tacky for now) and I may end up replacing them in the end. Any recommendations for good bits that would go on the two sides of the gun barrel (the mantlet, I think is what it's called?) or on the front hull below the barrel would be appreciated.

I'm also more than a little nervous about posting this here as, honestly, I know I'm not very good at this yet.

Thanks for reading!

Don't worry about posting, everyone started off new at some point.

The big obstacle with a conversion of this kind is making it look like a part of the universe, without making it look like you have sprinkled glue on it then rolled it around in a bits box. I'd suggest replacing the weapons with ones from 40k vehicles, heavy bolters, battle cannon, plasma cannon, heavy stubber etc, then just a few bits of iconography in appropriate places. If you can make these look like a part of the panel, and not just glued on, even better. Less is more, but they need to be the right bits, modelled on well to look like a natural part of the model.

Hope that helps, and look forward to seeing how you get on.
