So had an idea for my Khorne Daemons, gonna make some skull like mini daemon engines as Furies!

The vibe i'm going for are the lost souls from the Doom video games. Reaper minis actually made a set with one of them! but think they are long gone limited and were a whole set.

So just wondering if anyone had any ideas what to use as a base for these? Mainly around a set of skulls to use, i'm not 100% fussed with the flames i could model them so they have like rocket packs (kinda bigger evil looking servo skulls i guess)

Was thinking maybe could use spare defiler heads although not cheap on EB

You could look for larger scale skulls, but it looks like they don't come much cheaper than the defiler head. Here's one of the cheapest sources I found after a few minutes searching, though they're a bit... weathered.
