Everything going on recently has really motivated to finally get into the painting side of the hobby, and a few days ago I finished my very first model. A pre-Indomitus Necron Warrior- I hope to be a little more skilled before tackling one of the new ones.
My first painting experience was very humbling, but also gave me a lot of motivation to keep trying. I think for this model i will go back and try to fix his base and Dynastic Symbol on his chest.
The gold and purple color scheme is kind of cool, but i actually improvised it because I had very little paint to work with(and I will be buying more paints ASAP)
Any comments or criticism will be greatly appreciated, as a newby, I would love to hear from those with more experience in the hobby. Thank you and God bless.

Looks way better than my first model I ever did aha, but yeah, nice first effort

In terms of tips, I'd just suggest remembering to water down your paints a little, and if you do get some more, buy some shades and lighter tones of your colours to start doing highlights. You could even do drybrushing if you wanted to. The warhammer youtube page shows a lot of good videos! Should check them out :p

It's a very plain and basic paint job, but it actually looks OK on a Necron; gives it that "just crawled out of the earth" aged look.

I actually think the model probably doesn't need any more shading, the shadows and recesses already look nice and dark to me. It would benefit from some highlights though; a quick drybrush with a brighter gold would be an easy way to give the model a bit more "pop".

Using a brighter colour than that dark purple for the weapon details would probably help too; in the photo at least the purple bits are so dark that they're kind of hard to see.
