Started off with scouts

When I started the army the plan was 1 box of Scouts and 1 box of Intercessors giving me 3 troop choices and a nice basis for a battle forged army.

Obviously this has now changed with 9th edition but I had a plan

Liking what I see so far, nice oranges and armour! That's a cool name too.

What recipe for the scout faces?

I used Cadian Fleshtone as a base and then a wash of Reikland Fleshshade, at this point all I am aiming for is battle ready minis, I will get drawn in to some extra highlighting on characters for sure but I do not bother to much on the rank and file unless I am really into the models.

Nice colour scheme on these marines - rare to see orange marines, but it works!

9th has thrown a lot of spanners in the works for a lot of people and their armies! Looking forward to seeing "the plan" come to fruition 8-)

Yeah its a pain as I am unlikely to take scouts in games now as there are many other troop choices available to me now.

I did not ever figure I would miss the days of limited troop options hahaha!

This is what I am currently working on, hoping to finish him over the weekend

So got to work on him again today, I have to say I have loved painting this model. When I saw him I knew I wanted him in my army (even though I didn't know what he would do) I love his pose and presence.

I like it so much I came up with a little but of Chapter lore based around him.

Indulge me if you will;

Novice Chaplin's of the Chapter wear green robes trimmed in the company colours, when they are raised to the rank of Judiciar they retain there battle line armour only being allowed to swap a piece for the black armour denoting a full Chaplain after a successful execution of an enemy of the God Emperor during battle. Once they have replaced each piece of their original battle armour are they considered worthy enough for full induction in to the chaplaincy.

Anyway aside from coming up with this to explain the colour scheme I decided on I have been fully devoted to finishing this one piece before going back to my other units.
