I had a few hours tonight so thought would start my conversion of Maugan Ra to a SM Chaplain.

I still have some lines to file, some more green stuff work, more purity seals etc to add and still need to do the back pack connection/section from green stuff (prob make a magnatised joint cause have built an all skull jump pack and have a DW normal backpack ready as well, still thinking). But will wait till what have when sets/dries, maybe tomorrow.

What do you think?

Can you tell the head is smaller? or do you think the hood hides that it is smaller than norm SM so looks proportionate.
With adding the DW arms and Grey knight legs (and adding his cape back on after cutting him up) make it look larger (more SM) even with the smaller chest?

For the weapon, it is suppose to be a 2handed Crozius arcanum: Is a DW Heavy thunder hammer with Grey Knight top, still needs more work etc. Is it realistic as a Crozius in your opinion and is apparent? (It is in mine obviously).

EDIT: I still don't know how to make the photos right way up when scroll? They are when click on them?

Don’t get the size issue at all. You might get some side-by-side views with other marines to doublecheck, but on his own he’s in the right proportions.

Crozius is a skull on a stick. This is a box of skulls on a really big stick. Checks out.

Just be sure to slap enough purity seals on to excuse the xenos base, and you’ll be fine.

Very nice! You might want to “bulk out” the hood a bit, but I’d hold off until you’ve got the backpack on. It looks just a little bit thin at the top, but that’s because there’s nothing behind the head; could well be fine once you’ve got the backpack there.

I agree about a bigger stick with more skulls being fine; just means he’s even purer, right?! (Honestly, surprises me now I think about it that GW have never done a 2-handed crozius before…)

Sadly, the new Maugan Ra makes a better Chaplain than he does a Maugan Ra.

Looks cool, and easily passes as a Chaplain. 2H Crozius is a sweet idea.
