Warhammer Crime (Wrath and Glory)
Story Synopsis of Wrath and Glory Session, Warhammer Crime Themed.

Night Shift:

Enforcers Dex and Johni walked down the cold streets Polaris Sub District 7, near a sparsely populated commercia. Dex had his combat shotgun slung across his shoulder while Johni kept his autopistol holstered in plain sight. The few pedestrians gave the enforcers a wide berth, even going so far as to cross the street to avoid them. Dex grinned when he noticed one ragged citizen nearly get hit by a ground car as he jogged across the street, pretending to not have noticed the approaching enforcers.

The two stopped in front of a dimly lit neon sign which only showed the symbol of a pair of sunglasses. “This the place?” Dex asked Johni.

“Yeah.” Johni muttered as he drew his pistol.

Dex frowned. “Guns drawn?” He questioned.

“After what happened the last time we responded to an anonymous tip? Absolutely.” Johni replied, then proceeded to push his way through the unlocked heavy door and into the shop. Dex followed suit, shotgun drawn.

It was a small dimly lit shop, packed to the brim with all manner of counterfeit merchandise masquerading as high end fashion. Mostly clothes, but a few other notables like watches and sunglasses. There were no customers though, just a very old man, with a long beard, balding with heavy wrinkles, idly sitting behind a cash register.

When the man saw the enforcers he immediately put his hands in the air, but didn’t say a word.

“This shop is being sanctioned. Keep your hands where we can see them and don’t move.” Johni said gruffly.

Dex and Johni proceeded to clear the shop, putting restraints on the old man and checking the shop’s back rooms to make sure no one else was there.

“What is the sanction enforcer?” The old man asked indignantly as he was cuffed.

“Sale of unlicensed merchandise. You’re selling knock off products old man.” Dex said sternly.

The old man just shook his head. “So is everyone else. This isn’t harming anyone enforcer. Why are you singling me out?”

Johni approached the old man and holstered his pistol. “Just answer our questions and maybe we’ll let you walk.” He gestured to the sunglasses. “Where’d you get this grox junk?”

The old man grew nervous, and looked to be weighing his options but before he could answer Dex shoved his shotgun into the man’s back. “Just answer the question.” He prodded.

“Ok, it was a man named Duck.”

“Oh yeah, you got a pict of him? How about where he lives? How does he sell it to you?”

“You can check the shop’s vid cam in the back. Last time he was here was…was about three days ago, mid day. He pulls up in a ground truck, he unloaded the merchandise in the front, and I paid him the slate, just like I do every week. I don’t know where he lives though. I still don’t understand ….shouldn’t you enforcers have better things to do than this?”

Dex checked the shop’s camera, found what looked like Duck and snapped his own pict with his data slate for future reference.
Johni. “Where do we find him?”

The old man shuddered. “The Lantern Inn, it’s just a few streets down from here. Just a drinking hole. Everyone around here goes to it at least every other cycle. He’s probably there right now come to think of it?”

Johni gestured for Dex to uncuff the man.

“By the authority of the Emperor I pronounce you Not Guilty. But the next time I come through here, your shop better be gone. Understand?”

The old man nodded.

Johni gestured to Dex and the two left abruptly.

“He’s probably placing a call to warn his friend right now.” Dex said matter of factly.

“Then we better move quick.” Johni responded.

The two enforcers quickly moved through a back alley toward the nearby bar….and possibly a step closer to the Mob Boss that had tried to take them out the day before...
