All,

This is the first one of these I am doing so willing to take all criticism and death threats seriously!

Goal: Take an old GI JOE MOBAT and convert it into a Baneblade.

Up next are some shots of before the work begins.

Updates: So the weapons will be some GW and some will be MISC mostly from TechnoLog (its a russian company so good luck trying to get any now). Plasticard is also used, as well as old push beads from my wife's hobby bin.

Yo Joe!

Looking real good. I wish I still have mine. Or the WHALE, that would be a great 40k conversion.

Obligatory question: Does it still work? Will you be able to drive it over terrain/other models?

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

Interesting conversion. I was just thinking about how GI Joe influenced 40k and now I know.

Struggling about in Asmos territory.

As a kid I cared about little else than my GI joe action figures.. so this thread emediately had me hover in like the Sun.

I am pretty impressed with the inventiveness of building over a toy tank, seeing it all processing is rad.

Thanks much! My hope was that if anyone had a broken or spare MOBAT laying around and saw this it might inspire them to follow suit.

Good stuff. Looking forward to seeing how this comes out. Most of my terrain is built from cast off toys. Tehnolog stuff is great too.

Technolog stuff is great. If you have some source of it let me know as due to "politics" I cant find anymore.

Adding the Heavy Stubber and Auto cannon.

I know the heavy stubber is not supposed to sit on the rear of the turret and that Autocannon is called "CoAxial" but this is done for looks.

Heavy stubber is made of Technolog parts

Autocannon is a wizkids mageknight base, technolog arm, Makro Destroyd barrell

Great progress! That BaneBAT is looking sharp!

Any chance there's any troop transport capacity in there? My boys need a ride:

Keep up the great work

Man, oh man. THose 28MM joes are sharp. Got to say, I would love to see a Flint or a Beachhead, but Duke and Gung Ho are 100% on point. You may have just inspired my next build after this (I have another MOBAT). To make one with carrying capacity!

Thanks! Ironically I DO have a Flint & Beachead but I didn't want to derail your awesome tank thread any further than I already have.

Beachead is now my favorite. But Shockwave and Cobra commander are excellent as well! Great job!

Unfortunately not. All of my Tehnolog/Robogear/Bronepehota etc stuff is from years ago . The only stuff I see around these days is some 54mm figs and a smattering of Robogear.

Excellent use of clix bases. Will they retain their movement?

That's the plan. The top is double stacked so that it will be glued to the inner top roof of the sponson and the heavy bolters will move (by pushing the barrels) on the predetermined clicks
