New year so a new thread covering wave 10 and other out of "wave" releases like the new box from the TV show coming out next month.

There was a live stream yesterday showing off the first half of the Wild Appalachia wave. It's quite big with over 25 boxes. We got 14 in the stream.

The Supermutant war-tribe and Wasteland Raider sets are the new core boxes in plastic and they are replacing the resin boxes from FO4. Those will got OOP. (Supermutant core, raider core and raider psychos and scavvers). There will be more plastic sets in the second half for other core sets (Settlers and BoS are what we were told last year).

Cryptids will be their own faction

Zetans are no longer creatures and will be their own faction.

There's also no physical book or cards currently planned. We'll get the rules the month the boxes come out for free on Modiphius's website. There's been no conformation if eventually we'll get one at the end of the release cycle as the reason for this change is to allow them change up their design and release process working on the rules much later in the process.

Ignore the Fallout Faction logos on all of these except the plastic sets and the Cult of the Mothman. The stream had that as an overlay for everything because some faction stuff was covered.

Great stuff, especially the Zetans. More plastic kits is nice too, hopefully sometime they can eventually do institute gen 2 synths in plastic. Gen 1 might be more difficult with such fine details.

Cool stuff. Good to finally see some Zetans. The Ferals are great as well.

Plastic Raiders and all the Zetan stuff is going straight in the wish list.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

My wife and I LOVED Wasteland Warfare when it launched, but holy hell the pace of releases is making it intimidating to return. We bought everything through Wave 3, but it looks like since we last played, a wild amount of releases have happened!

So what is Fallout Factions? Totally separate game? Do rules overalp with Wasteland Warfare? Model cross-compatibility?

Edit: I did some homework, and Factions sounds WONDERFUL and clearly has a massive influence from Mantic's incredible Deadzone rules, combined with plenty of Fallout flavor. I preordered their big bundle immediately, but must admit I will be way more invested once the Wasteland Warfare models get official rules. Hopefully future model releases will have rules for both games, and maybe a chunky rulebook will backfill rules for existing models.

Most FWW factions will have rules in Factions. How they're approaching it starting out with "Get You by" rules which are basic pre-made lists then they'll release a full ruleset later on.

For BoS, Super Mutants, Raiders and Settlers they'll be in the first Factions Rule book in addition to the Get you by rules some time in the next year.

After really enjoying the Fallout TV show I've decided to order some of the power armour plastics, really curious to see how those turn out in terms of options and assembly.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of stuff is listed as sold out right now, has there been any word on it coming back, or being redone in a different medium?

Looks like Factions have basically sold out on preorder, at EU retailers.

Still seems available on both Modiphius websites, so maybe that is just a fluke?

I'd imagine most retailers didn't imagine the Fallout TV series was going to be so good (and popular) so sales are likely to have been well above expectations meaning sold out stores

hopefully Modipheus has enough stock in hand to resupply them without having to do a big restock themselves

Basically everything is in a restock cycle and it can take up to a year for some resins to come back, though generally it's just a few months. We are getting 4 new plastic kits over the next 12 months or so that will replace some resins (Raider, supermutant, BoS and Settler core boxes) but outside of that it's just a bit of a waiting game.

Also the x-01 power armor has a release date of May so that will be the second plastic power armor set.

Unfortunately not. They're out of their 2 players starter and Factions was delayed by months mostly because of shipping issues from China to UK/EU due to avoiding Yemin. Good 6-8 weeks before modiphius has the FWW starter back in stock and then it still has to get out to distribution and then Factions is in middle-late july. Both of those were supposed to be in stock this month.

Those look nice. Love working with Plastic over Resin.

Sad that we'll probably never see a rematerial for the New Vegas stuff, but I'll pick up cool stuff like this when it drops

Yeah, the Institute found some before the events of Fallout 4, so that's why you can find it there as well, but it was mainly an Enclave Armor.

Why wouldn't we? In light of several choices the show makes (keeping it spoiler free), I imagine that New Vegas content getting popular enough to warrant tooling by Modiphius is still very much up for consideration.

Man, those power armor look fun! I have been meaning to paint some power armor that I made by removing all the Imperial iconography from some Primaris marines, but official designs would be much cooler.

Even tho NV is widely regarded as the best game in the series and one of the most popular, from everything I've heard the NV models sold VERY poorly for Modiphius. I would absolutely jump at the opportunity reacquire the NCR stuff in Plastic should they release it, but if they don't I totally understand why.

Would love to see a reissue of some of the NV sculpts, as some of them are a bit dire in my opinion. They did not do right by my girl Cass. Didn't stop me from snatching up the entire range, but still.. 😭

While it's true NV is very well regarded it's probably only the 3rd best selling game in the franchise by quite a margin (4th best if we include fallout shelter which has 100+million players but is a free to play game aimed at asia). While we don't have official numbers 3 & NV were around 8-10million copies over their first year or two of release. FO4 sold 12 million in just a few days and in it's first 2 years of release outsold Skyrim (but no numbers were given). 76 also has 16 million active players as of last summer. So NV is likely behind 76 in sales.

So while it's fans are quite active, and vocal, on social media they're a much smaller group then they seam as it's a quite old game, relatively speaking, and the majority of current fallout fans have really only played FO4 so there's no attachment to anything from New Vegas, 3 or earlier games.

I think there's some good chances Modiphius will re-look at New Vegas stuff but likely not from the game but season 2 of the TV Show. Same with NCR in general. But the older games are having quite the resurgence due to the TV show (NV actually got up to it's initial 2010 release active player count on Steam this past week) so that could really change the actual demand for minis from the older games.

Maybe. It depends on how much time the second season spends there, and how closely the series follows the canon of New Vegas. The first season was set in the same region as the first game, but you could be forgiven for missing that detail, considering that Shady Sands appears to have literally been the *only* location that appears in both the game, and season 1. And the ruins of LA appear to have turned into a very green, overgrown wilderness in between the first game and the TV series. /smh

I don't think that Fallout 76 has 16 million *active* players. In a recent blog post, the art director - John Rush - claims that 17 million have "experienced" the game, which suggests that the number includes anyone who logged in at least once. According to Steam Charts, prior to this month (which currently has a high of just under 73,000 players on at the same time; no doubt people who became interested due to the TV series), the highest number of players on at once was in May 2020, when there were almost 33,000 players. Those are, of course, only Steam players, and not console players. But the numbers seem a bit low to be millions of active accounts. To add to that, Fallout 76 was handed out for "free" a while back to anyone with a PSN account. And I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened with people who have XBox accounts. So, many of those 17 million players might be people who got the game for free, hopped on to take a look around, and disappeared never to be seen again.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
