Got a printer recently, an FDM though, not a resin. I saw a big set of Khorne themed minis on Heroes Infinite and thought with a few minor conversions from the old bitz bin they could make a good Berserker Warband full of former imperials afflicted by Khorne's Murder-Curse (guard and sisters, maybe a few marines). I'll just be using the World Eaters rules for simplicity and some hand-wavy "Chaos Did It" for stat explanations.

Just starting up with a Master of Executions and the squad leader for some Berserkers. The bare red plastic print doesn't photo well so here they are primed and about to get some slap-choping.

For now I'm pretty happy with the level of detail I've been able to get out of the FDM printer. You can still see some layer lines if you look close but on the table top you'd need to be pretty sharp-eyed.

I've got plans for a couple squads of these, some daemons, a flying prince, a couple other characters, some eight-bound and a Lord of Skulls but we'll see how things progress. Khorne isn't an army I'd normally buy into but when I can print the army for about the price of a single box of troops suddenly I find myself curious enough to give it a go.

Got them painted and a couple more of the squad are finishing conversion and going into priming soon.

It's just a decent table-top paint job but the finer details print just a bit "fuzzy" still, at least compared to a good resin print or GW plastics.

The rest of the berserker squad is primed and heading into paint. While I work on those, AngieRon (Tzeench and Slaanesh pranked Khorne's favorite toy soldier) is getting parts printed with bases, an arm, and the wings still to go. FDM can take a while sometimes, I think the total print time is around 60 hours but I'll have both a 100mm round and 120x92mm oval base the rocks can be magnetized to for use as Angron or a Bloodthirster. Looking forward to getting her into paint, should be a fun project.

These are great. Nice work getting workable smaller models off a filament printer. Bring on the big gal!

Couple more days of printing on the big girl. And support removal. Dark gods of the warp, the support removal... So I didn't pay enough attention when printing the torso and that was over 4 hours of effort and several nicks and cuts I could have avoided. I see supports being removed in my sleep right now. I take what comfort I can that at least this big red model has been blessed by blood for the blood god and wonder if it will help the dice rolls in the future or that's too far into Tzeench's wheelhouse.

Just waiting on varnish and basing to finish the squad. In the meantime, I finished printing and assembled Angie, minus the bases. Need to do some putty work, mostly on the back of the wings where the supports did not come off very clean, and I have a new primer coming in this week to use for her since the older stuff I have has left some cracks in the speedpaint finish (holding too much moisture it seems)

Big girl will be the largest mini I've painted, so this should be interesting!

You can pick them up over on HeroesInfinite, there's also Part 2. I'm using a good bit of both and also printing out some freebie bitz for backpacks, guns, etc from all over.

Hrm... I'm sorely tempted, but I don't know of any local 3D printing services and I don't own a printer myself.

I collected stls for about 6 months from one creator that caught my eye before I bought a printer.

After I'd priced up how much it would cost to pay someone to print them for me the printer was cheaper and there are some really good printers on the market now at very affordable prices

Got the 4 girls painted. Had some problems with the primer holding moisture a lot longer than usual though which caused some cracking in the speedpaint. Bummer :/ Got a new primer coming in today that should do better, but first I need to do some putty work on the big girl for seams and support scars (the backs of the wings are... not pretty)

And here's the whole squad together

Technically that's 30% of my first 2k army, by model count. I'm sure it will be a bad army on the tabletop but a good low-model count start to build off of. A 20 model World Eater army is... a thing you can do. I wanted to try painting some more big models though so it works out.

Primer finally finished curing and the base wash is down and curing, then on to so.. much... drybrushing... And then speedpaint! But for now, progress:
