im considering starting blood ravens and was wondering if any mark of armor would be out of place?
have they been around long enough for mark 3 etc?

is it odd to mix marks in the same unit?

It is very normal to mix Mks within a unit.

Even later founding Chapters tend to have a few relic suits of armour floating around from various sources. I think there were a couple of MkIII-themed suits featured in DoW2, for example. The Blood Ravens seem to be very adept at... acquiring relics, so I'm sure they'd have some MkIII. Could be nice to give to veterans or squad leaders as a sign of favour.

Blood Ravens have a curious amount of relic waregar in their armoury as well all of which was definitely obtained legally. Yup. No theft here.

Ahem. Regardless, having some with older armour would be fine because the Chapter also took massive losses (canon) over the course of Dawn of War and using older relic gear would be a necessity in some formations.
