Hello, I am a brand new player in a crusade Escalation league. I am facing off against players who have 10+ years experience and I am getting my ass handed to me. I am playing in an escalation crusade. I get shot off the board round 3-4 most games. I have to replace my units a lot due to injuries so they are not getting much xp. I am focusing my RP on making the beastboss on squigosaur and squighog boys healthy and getting good XP, but they are usually the first unit to get focus fired. I face mostly Eldar, Dark Angels, and Grey Knights. In particular I play against the eldar player a lot because we are neighbors, but he kicks my ass. He runs mixed army, lead by a farseer on bike with a big squad of windrunners that is getting tons of XP, it has a psychic attack with blast that he has given precision, his nightspinner is a terror, he also runs mixed infantry that he uses to screen and throws away into my waaagh! to keep it limited. He is trying to convince me to run green tide but I dont want to paint and move hundreds of models. We are playing with leviathan tournament companion standard terrain. Should I grow into a bully boys list? Precision seems to be common with a lot of the crusade units and I am worried about relying on characters.

Eldar are a pretty mobile army, so it makes sense that they'd focus down your faster units. I assume the truck is for carting around the Warboss and the Nobs, has that been able to reach it's targets? Without it and the Squigs, your army is pretty slow and I would see it having a hard time chasing down a mobile Eldar player.

I play a bit of Orks, but I'm far from an Ork expert so take my advise with a grain of salt. Perhaps some Deffkoptas might be useful here. They're fast, can punch up pretty well, their melee should be plenty serviceable for taking down Eldar units, and if he does have large blobs supported by characters, they have blast to help there.

How have you been utilizing your Waaagh!? If you're having trouble staying alive, against squishier armies I've found it best to use it defensively to stay alive and trust that you're already punchy enough to beat them when you close the gap.

Another unit that I haven't personally used yet myself that seems good could be some Burnas, they're pretty good at downing Eldar. If your truck is surviving, you can cart them around in that torching torching Eldar units and it's great for overwatch to either control where your enemy can move, or to keep a unit you've engaged from running away.

Usually what happens is he will choose units to get in range of my turn 2 /3 waaaagh! So I get some kills, but he is choosing what to sacrifice so he is always picking the engagements. He focuses my trukk or squighogs first, then picks apart my army, once mobility is gone.

I will take a look at the deffcoptas, thanks

Were acquiring models no issue, I'd probably run something like this:
Beatboss on Squigasaur: 130pts
Headwoppa's Killchoppa :20pts
Squighog Boyz x4: 160pts

Beast Snagga Boyz x10: 105pts
Boyz x10: 85pts

Gretchin x10: 40pts

Trukk: 65pts
Burna Boyz x10: 120pts

Deffkoptas x6: 200pts

Kustom Boosta-blasta: 75pts.

The gretchin stay in the back for cp farm. You've got a lot more mobility to push up into the midfield turn one, and then your infantry get on objectives turn 2 to free up your mobile units to run around elsewhere.

You're also lighter on characters so less vulnerable to precision as a bonus.
