Hi all, do you think this model (can’t remember its name) would make an acceptable proxy for a helbrute? Default wargear for a helbrute is lascannon and missile launcher and it’s a similar vehicle. I can kitbash it to make it look like it has a demon bound to it but obviously the helbrute is wider. Maybe some tentacles…..

Go for it! Some demon possessed relic is a great story hook, as well. Base size and armament is fine, and I believe the base size fits as well

The sentinel might actually be wider. That's a 80mm base, a brute is only on a 60mm.

Oh cool, I haven’t built it yet and I don’t like the helbrute model so nothing to compare against
Thanks

as a Chaos player I highly encourage this. That is my favorite part of Chaos, kit bashing to make cool models. I don't think anyone who is not "that guy" will ever give you static on that, probably not even at local events (a big GW event might be different). Go for it and make sure you post the results.

Given that a Helbrute has an Aura, bigger base is actually better (generally).
I would, if possible, base it on a 60mm instead. I wouldn't care too much, but others might.

Ah that is a valid point, wasn't aware of any aura. In that case, a 60mm base would be advisable. Maybe talk to your regular opponents, I know I wouldn't really mind. I don't believe that any game mechanic was designed with the units base size in mind
