Konrad Curze, also known as The Night Haunter, is one of the darkest and most tragic figures in the universe of Warhammer 40,000.
Konrad Curze was one of the Primarchs, superhuman sons created by the Emperor of Mankind. But unlike his brothers, Curze grew up alone on the terrifying planet of Nostramo, a world filled with crime, corruption, and violence. As a child, he survived in darkness, hunting criminals and spreading fear. He believed justice could only exist through terror — if people feared punishment enough, they would obey.

He became the leader of the Night Lords Legion, warriors who fought by striking fear into enemies. Rather than honor or glory, Curze believed terror was the greatest weapon. His soldiers left gruesome warnings to break enemy morale before battles even began.
But Curze was deeply troubled. He suffered from horrifying visions of the future, including his own death, and slowly descended into madness. He believed he was doomed and that fate could never be changed. Eventually, he allowed himself to be assassinated, believing it proved his dark view of justice and destiny.

This miniature captures that tragic darkness perfectly — standing above ruined enemies like a silent predator, wrapped in shadow and broken glory. While painting every tiny detail, the artists probably imagined the contrast between his noble origins and terrifying fall: the gold showing his former greatness, the dark reds hinting at violence, and every shadow helping bring the Night Haunter to life.
