That ship really is amazing. How do you create the curved side (the 10mm or so pancaked between top and bottom 'plates' of the ship) - is that just stacked MDF or would we have to bend those into shape during assembly?

The curved panels would be card, rather than MDF.You can see the different thickness of the pieces in the pics... The thicker pieces are MDF, the thinner ones are card.

Ah, mixed materials. Nice. These things really are a cut above most of the MDF market.

Sorry it's a bit off topic, but have you got any tutorials on how that half track was painted?

Very cool, really pushing the envelope with what can be done with laser cut wood.

And Mousemuffins and Insaniak seperated at birth?

Or do all Aussies just shop at the same Avatar store?

Oh, hey, did not realize you had a news thread here. A few people around here have picked up some of this stuff for Infinity terrain. Others have picked up some buildings which are cool. I myself grabbed one each of the two larger forklifts and the flatbed truck. Forklifts went together good, though could possibly use something to help make sure the tracks/forks go on more symmetrically. Haven't got the truck together yet because I want it to have a bigger cargo area and I need to pick up some stuff for that yet.

Otherwise it's really sweet stuff and I'll definitely have to keep an eye on this thread!

lonecat a lot of the vehicles are inspired from other sources.
Borderlands, Dark Knight movie trilogy, and I had spotted another that I recognized but can't remember which one it was.

I've been wanting to order a not tumbler for a while

Just read the instructions for the Tornadodo, I love how you've included two versions of the large rotors. It would be great if we could purchase a few sets of the more intricate versions for scratchbuilding

I posted something somewhat like this earlier and I think it might've been taken the wrong way. Are you planning on releasing stencils or decals of these different paint schemes we've seen or were you just having a bit of fun? Some of them, especially this one are things I'd like to see. Heck, if you offered a special version of your kits that included a sheet of stencils specific to that (like a deluxe version or something), I'd be interested in that.

Euro-prices are still quite good, very competetive.

the curved card... would that be cardboard or plasticcard? Me I would prefer plasticcard and rough it up with a some sanding paper in preparation for painting. Cardboard has the tendency to crease when bent too much. Zen Terrain over here had that problem with a food booth.

But since we have a great plasticcard-supplier in town it does not matter that much... I can always cut me some stripes when needed.

Cardboard. Though you do have to be careful to align the cut with the grain of the card, so it will bend properly. Most of the bends on this model will be pretty gentle though.

Some more piccys to illustrate the difference between the basic model and the more advanced version.

Note that interior is only about half done in these picks.

I'm hoping for a mid December release.

That looks amazing!

There's a serious gap in the market for large 28mm ships/tankers/freighters with playable interiors. I'd love to be able to do a spaceport table with lots of small cargo tugs and shuttles scattered about and a few larger models in the centre to fight through.
