Firstly i would like to apologise to anyone who frequents the OT, Boot camp or work in progress forums as you would've seen these before.  Secondly i apologise for the varying lighting conditions and sizes of the pictures as they were all taken at different times and dates.

Now then, onto the squad.

First up we have the pointman

Next the HB gunner

then the sarge

Next, the grenadier

Grenade launcher dude

A rifleman (i know, the GS hand is too big)

Vox operator

And finally, the light support gunner (with my first attempt at an ammo feed)

comments are welcome.

Totaly freeking cool man. Impressive to say the least. I recently picked up the Gale force nine sculpting tools set and looking foward to using them to try some mods on a few of my own figs. Have you seen the most redent WD? There are some SWAT type guys in there that are similar to yours, between those and these great conversion pics as referance, I hope to pull off something cool of my own. Great Inspiration here man. Keep it up. And keep us posted.

they look really good. I've seen them over on work in progress but didn't comment there. 1 thing I'm not really fond of is the end of the gun, with no external barreling, it seems semi abrupt for the weapon to end there. w/ lasguns, You could possibly cut the angled part of the end off, or cut the smaller barreling off between the angled end and the rifle body. Very good work.

Thanks for the comments. The rifles look strange and it's entirely intentional, i wanted a different look.

Really, really good stuff (as usual).
The only things I don't like are the stub-lasguns (don't look GW-ish enough - are they even supposed to be lasguns??) and the Tau antenna.
Apart from those minor details these guys really rock.

I hope GW is watching and will release their own IG special ops.

I wish GW would make spec ops...

DC, the drilled out barrel of the heavy bolter looks to be the same size as the lasguns. Possible widening it would make it look more threatening.

Thanks for the comments guys. some of your questions would be answered if you read the fluff in the short fiction section (wink wink). The mercenary group worked alongside the tau for 2 years, hence the subtle hybrid tech (mainly only visually noticeable on the vox casters). The weapons aren't lasguns, big clue, they all have ejection ports for empty casings. And bolters use .75 ammunition, by my reckoning that drilled barrel is about right, it's the autoguns that are all wrong!

@alarmingrick: I screwed up most of these at some point, as i'm making a whole army of individuals i can't spend the time to make each one perfect as it would take me about 10 years to finish them all.

OK

OK.
May I suggest that you replace or resculpt the magazines.

Keep up the good work.

I really should but i'm not going to.

Official reason: In real life assault rifle mags come in all shapes and sizes so anything vaguely box like looks ok.

Real reason: I'm lazy. And i lack the time to go into the ideal amount of detail that i would like, due to work commitments.
I figured the ejection port would be enough of an indicator.

They look great, rather well lived and more specalized without being a mass produced and trained in a regular manner like the stormtroopers.

Though I just have to wonder, what're the rules for these guys?

Those look awesome! I really like the matching uniforms, everyone having headsets, etc... it all looks very professional just like mercenaries should. My one problem is that the light support gunner with his lil' tiny gun has a bipod while the HB gunner with his huge impossible to carry weapon has no bipod or any way to secure the weapon before firing. Other than that, perfect!

Sweet as always Darkchild. Emperor bless the infantrymen you create. Oh by the way the sergeant is my personal favorite.

@Smokinjoe: I use marine scout rules for them as imperial guard has nothing to represent "proper" elite troops. Eventually my army will have assault walkers as dreadnoughts and gun jeeps as landspeeders.

@Veon: The HB has no bipod because the man carrying it is massive! The last squads's HB had a sling and a bipod, i wanted this one to look different.

@Shattered soul: Thanks!
