Yeah, I don't think the term "assault rifles" has any particular baggage in context of a miniature wargame. Especially considering assault weaponry is a specific type of weapon in said wargame.

Some great suggestions so far, keep 'em coming!

The choice of terms for games is up to the designers and they're not the ones selling products with the term in the name. Let's be clear though "assault rifle" isn't the problem - the more generic "assault weapon" is. It's a bit like journalists not being able to tell the difference between a hunting rifle and a machine gun and how that reflects on their understanding of a story. My customers are mostly wargamers but anyone can browse the site and the company name has my surname in it so hopefully you can understand why I'm a tad cautious!

Thanks to everyone who helped us out by suggesting names for our new product!

When we posed the question it was to get some help with a problem we were grappling with but so many of you chipped in that we agreed (in secret, all very hush hush) to make a competition of it. We’re planning on doing some properly announced competitions in the future but I’m sure you won’t mind us giving away some free stuff right now.

After much deliberation we’ve chosen to combine two excellent suggestions, which means that we have two winners! Congratulations to both B0b Marley and MacMuckles: you each get £10 of store credit to spend on Fox Box brand stuff.

We’ve also got a special prize for Roy James for his entry on Facebook: Dakka dakka bling bling…………Sprue. We’re not going to use it but anything that gets a good chuckle out of us is worth rewarding. £5 of Fox Box stuff for him too!

Meet the new product: Red Army Scrapguns! A sprue full of kickass for just £3.50. Fits both goblins and humans.

It's the 26th December and that makes this Boxing Day, at least in the UK. Admittedly we're on holiday somewhere else but we're feeling a bit homesick so we're getting into the spirit of things with a 50% sale on Fox Box products.

We're still away though so things won't be shipped until we're back in early January but given the state the postal system ends up in at this time of year orders probably wouldn't reach you any quicker even if we posted them immediately!

Well we were ill for all of January which was a huge bucket of no fun whatsoever. We're back now though and we're releasing our first vehicle. It's a bike, snowmobile, skidoo-y thing and it looks like this:

You can find it here:
http://fox-box.co.uk/product/fox-box-orc-snow-stinger/

Also we're nearly done putting together our first (specifically) human weapon sprue:

Is there anything crucial that's missing?
Things like special weapons and other heavy weapons will probably be added later when we've got designs that we're satisfied with. Is there anything obvious that we've left out though?

It's not just a convenience thing - they're significantly cheaper in bulk.

got me recently quite a bunch of your grotlings...when you announced that sale...awesome quality...

what i would like to see for these stingers would be the unpainted parts...to see how i can cope with the quite uniform look of the model...and how to do conversions...

Cheers! I've got a few new gobbos in the pipeline that you'll hopefully like

Good point, let's see if embedding this works:

the anachronistic 360° view is very helpful, but a picture of all parts would be more use to my special needs

also...more gobbos is always a blessing^^

if by chance these would allow for different hand posing...aka open hands , gesturing or able to hold various stuff...i´d be all over them...*hint, hint, hint...*

I would love to be able to offer them as full multi-part models. The problem is that multi-part kits take an absolute age to sculpt. Every part needs to fit with every other part and so each new part has to be checked against all the ones created so far, adjusted, retested, and so on. One day I'll get there though but it's going to be a while, sadly.

On the plus side if I can use the existing gobbos as a basis for a multi-part range then it'll make the process easier. Lots of other things to be working on in the meantime though. I do want to create a goblin technical though and I've got a weird goblin bicycle thing nearly done too...

Yes, thats the ticket...tho it verifies my fear of the kit...if one would want to swap an arm with another wielding agun/cchoppy, then the handle wouldn't be there...hmmm but I bet the handle is per se a rather simple straight forward shape, right?

And I see your point here with the multi part kit issue...tho, these arms as described, in a way like your ork arm set you did would also be a leap into the right direction...

And a technical would be a cool idea...depends on the vehicle it is based upon...would avoid the too strong Isis look tho...

Any old bit of rodding or sprue should do the trick.

 Viktor von Domm wrote:

It's all definitely do-able - it's just a matter of how long it takes to get it done and which projects have to be sacrificed to free up that time. At the moment I'd like to give the goblins a few other options like a few heavy weapons and a couple of vehicles. They're not really being built for any one rule set.

 Viktor von Domm wrote:

It wouldn't be based on any vehicle in particular - that's pretty much what makes it a technical It'd be a generic pick-up truck with a mounted gun. I don't know enough about cars to base it on anything anyway!

 Viktor von Domm wrote:

That sounds more like a paintwork issue and the day I have to sell painted models you know it's game over
Joking aside I have no idea what an ISIS vehicle even looks like!

I'm trying to figure out what to do about a new version of my Orc Riot Shields. Currently they're a set of three but I want to redesign the sprue to contain five or six but in doing so it seems to be a sensible idea to pair them with another arm.

The question then becomes this: pistols or clubs?

Baton-like clubs would fit the theme better but perhaps you guys would prefer pistols and close-combat weapons.

Maybe make both sets, and have clubs/pistols separate sprues from the shields and let customers choose which they'd like with their order?

I want to make one mould that contains both left and right arms so it's kind of a one or the other type deal, sadly. For now I'm going with clubs for batoning people

The bottom row looks interesting but I don't really understand the big guns or how they're meant to be used with an infantry kit. Do you have an example of them in use? What are the fifth, sixth, and seventh from the left (bottom row) meant to be as well? I'm guessing the sixth and seventh are a heavy flamer and multi-melta respectively.. is the other some type of heavy bolter?

 MLaw wrote:

The short answer is that the arms that would go with them are specific to Sororitas Arcanum models and aren't finished yet.

The longer answer is that I figured that these models might be used for a variety of games and models and as such would probably need to be modified a fair bit to fit if they came with specific handles and grips. I need some for some SA models with heavy weapons and I figured it wouldn't do any harm to make them available as a bit of a bonus for others wanting them.

 MLaw wrote:

From left to right: Falchion heavy machine gun, some sort of big flamethrowery thing, and a heavy Thermal Agitator (“Thermag”).
I've designed pistol and specialist weapon versions of these too but they currently only exist as specifications.

Big one this time!
We've got things from both me and 'im and his stuff is stonkingly good.

First off these cult-inspiring beauties:

Craig built them for his gorgeous Big Rig build (Full playlist here):

Get them here:
http://fox-box.co.uk/product/fox-box-orc-engines-3

Also for that rig? Barrels!

They're here:
http://fox-box.co.uk/product/fox-box-barrels-8/

Now for my stuff. I made some basic Orc legs and figured other people might want them too.
They're not supposed to be amazingly dynamic, beautiful, or impressive. They come in a set of six and are pretty cheap.

Again, get 'em here:
http://fox-box.co.uk/product/fox-box-basic-orc-legs-6/

Lastly we've got shotguns. Good for dealing with pretty much anything that gets too close and available in a variety of styles:

Four of them, with arms, here:

I ordered the two of the engine packs and they've arrived promptly and well packaged

all cast in a good quality cream resin, sharp casts and very little flash (and a chunky pour gate, but positioned in an easy place to remove)

I shall have to knock up a buggy or walker or two for them to go in

they also threw in some miscast barrels as freebies (always useful), a couple of ork arms (club and pistol), very nice casts again, and a machinegun & ammo belt, again very nice, thanks guys!

so if you're interested in buying I can recommend their service

I don't know about you but when it comes to long weekends the first day is pretty much a write-off. With any luck though we're now all a bit better rested and can get on with whatever it was we'd planned to do with this Easter holiday thingy.

We've not got any tasty chocolate eggs for you but we do have a 20% off sale on Fox Box branded stuff:

The code is "yoink-2016" if the image doesn't display for you

Also some new stuff - the old 1.5 mould has kicked the bucket so onwards and upwards to 2.0!

These aren't particularly spectacular but I might as well announce them here:

Also this is a bump for the sale as it's still on:
