But we all know what a "real" release is like.

Amusingly enough, I don't think Sisters have ever gotten one of those since I started playing them. And I started playing right after the 2nd edition book came out (right before 3rd).

So, Celestine model + Exorcist model + new Immolator kit + a bunch of other stuff was not a real release ?

That was more a wave since we didn't get a real new codex.

The digitalized Armies could get updated without models forever. They take up zero shelf-space as is.

Looking forward to IG in 2014. What can go wrong?

Don't say that, they might hear you!

Honestly, all I want is the ability to keep running my 'mech army. And new tanks. And maybe a doctrine system similar to C:SM chapter tactics.

The Necron codex will just be a "special edition" hardcover release to bring the codex in line to the other 6E codex, with a digital supplement covering the Sautekh Dynasty.

Are you speculating or providing rumors?

Not speculation. Based on a conversation w/ two folks "in the know". According to them, there is no playtesting or new models underway for Necrons, and the book is "just a reprint with color and hardcover". No word on the digital contents other than "will probably have a couple of scenarios and a special warlord trait"

I have feeling IG, is the next 40K army to be updated; I recently ordered some Basilisks and instead of coming in the standard colour box, the sprue was packed in a plain brown box (no design).

That's been ongoing for a few months - I'd say at least 6.

After what seems to have happened with Tyranids, I'm not so sure I want IG updated - they'll be hit with the nerf bat for sure.

The vendetta is long over-due for a nerf-bat hit as it was originally priced as a skimmer and now has all of the perks of a flier.

However, I am looking forward to some new goodies for IG. Especially new models!

BTW, my source on IG:

"If your looking for a reboxed, Baskilisk - don't. IG has enough vehicle kits and management doesn't want a combined baskilisk/griffon/medusae kit (too easy to switch parts, apparently). New vehicle kits are expensive to design and with 6E focus on air/anti-air, expect new vehicle kits in that area. Expect the one(s) without GW models to get axed next release."

Also, "Look for plastic veterans."

And apparently on Orcs:

"Orcs have been hard. GW doesn't like how easy it is to kitbash equipment for them. Look for a focus on figure models and mobs."

In every bad rumor there has to be some believable element. Nids lost a few units that there were no model for. This includes spores and doom. So It is not hard to believe that the IG would have the same thing happen to them. 6th focusing on air and anti air is nice and all yet the nids did not get one anti air kit. All in all i think that this is a very general rumor and will be partly true.

As for orks... What does that even mean? look for focus on figure models and mobs? does this mean this person thinks they are going to axe every vehicle model that does not have a kit already? no more deff koptas, buggies, looted wagon? If so I am royally screwed because I rely on all these models.

Stikk bommas are special among ork society for one reason - They know when you pull the pin out of a stikk bomb you throw the bomb not the pin!

But...That's the entire point of orks.

I guess it makes sense, just seems odd how they are shipping the Baskilisks now. A new Hydra box would be nice, all they would have to do is swing over what FW has.

Just checked out FW, and they have dropped their artillerty conversion kits. :(
